B2 2084 collided with Kinetic 8291 near the Flinders Street viaduct (routes 58 and 236 respectively), with 2084 having derailed over the intersection.

I reckon it might be fairly easy to repair.

Belgrave/Lilydale passengers should buy a TattsLotto ticket following three consecutive days of squishy trespassers on the tracks. Who needs a road toll when you can take public transport?

Has anyone else noticed that there are far more suicides by train since the government put those fences up on the westgate?

Add Hallam and Holmesglen to the list too, apparently.

One of the Belgrave trespassings seems to have been organized crime of disrupting social order, involving two consecutive near-misses resulting in both the original and relief drivers requesting relief.

Really really stupid question but I rode the Warrnambool train up to Geelong on Friday and it appeared to have a power van at the back, which I found unusual. Are the N class having their HEP units modified in anticipation of more being offloaded to SSR for freight use, or is this a case of HEP just being inoperable/the Z-type carriages in the consist not working well with HEP? I thought the N-type carriages were usually operated using HEP from the lead locomotive...

Sometimes, they attach a power van to locomotive-hauled trains for extra assurance, particularly during hot weather when the locomotive alone cannot be relied on to give the passenger cars airconditioning.

372M still has Surrey Hills and Mont Albert on the interior map, the motors/gears sounded nice though.

The next Comeng I rode (432M) had the updated map but the PID announcement had a blank for Southland ("Now arriving at..."), although the LED display showed the station name. This one sounded terrible inside, giving out an elongated electronic groan every time it accelerated until it got to full power and drowning out most of the motor sound, only getting worse when Ms. Network Control Centre took over the PA system using a Bakelite telephone handset from 1931. 432M also showed a space-less Glenhuntly on the PIDs, unless that's still on every EDI Comeng, having not been upgraded to the stage 3 of the Alstom sets.
