I have m/o 930 and m/o 4528 belonging to Sinclair, Eastwood. I am not sure if they were registered in the name of Eastwood Bus Service or Dundas Valley Coaches. Could someone advise me regarding this.

I miss the days of the microscopic operator with a patch of gravelly dirt for a depot. Bring it back immediately.

Comeng Bedford mo4528 was not new to Sinclair's Eastwood Bus Service but new to Greenhills Bus Service as mo 4218 in June 1959. It was used by its owner E.J.Williams on his route 161 Narrabeen to Elanora Heights service until the route passed to the Richard brothers in 1963 when it was sold to Sinclair and became mo 4528. Before Mr. Williams bought the new Bedford i believe his previous bus was a normal control Properts bodied Chev registered as mo 108.
Sinclair's mo 770 was a MBA bodied AEC and mo 784 was a Syd Wood AEC and both were signwritten on their sides as Dundas Valley Coaches .
mo 930 was Syd Wood bodied AEC half cab most likely ex Canberra and and all my rego notes refer it belonging to the Auburn District Bus Service ( route 239) , one of the many Sinclair brand names used in the 1950's and early 60's.
hugh45, i am not sure if you want more info on the Sinclair regos of the 1950' and early 60's or not.

Red and Cream. Thank you for the above information. I have four other Sinclair buses I need more information on. They are m/o 643, m/o 896, m/o 4321 and m/o 4598. I am not sure if they were Eastwood Bus Service, Dundas Valley Coaches or something else. Do you have details on Sinclair's buses on Route 91 Pennant Hills to Dural in 1963.

Hi hugh45,in regard to the buses you require info on, i have in my rego notes for that period that m/o 643 was an AEC with a half cab Syd Wood body registered to Sinclair Passenger Service and had come from the Canberra Bus Sevice were it had the rego of C54173.
m/o 896 was a bus that i never saw myself but i once had access to old rego details and i noted that it was an AEC Syd Wood bodied half cab and it was owned by Sinclair with no other details.
m/o 4321, in my rego notes on this CCMC Bedford, i only have it registered to Kurnell Bus Service without any mention of Sinclair but that is not to say it was not owned by them and i merely did not see it to record it. Rely on your own records.
m/o 4598 the PMC Bedford was indeed an Eastwood Bus Service which was traded in to John A Gilberts bus sales in December 1965 and was sold to Lowes Bus Service from there in February 1966.

I don't have any info in regard to Col Sinclair's ownership of route 91 but that is no surprise as it was only for a short period of 11 months and unfortunately i could not cover the entire Sydney area all at once. Looking at my records when i did cover that area in Nicholson's operation i make the observations that maybe Col Sinclair for that short length of time may have used buses from his other services to cover the route or when you look at Nicholsons first buses on his service, m/o 4614 PMC Bedford was an ex Eastwood Bus Service bus, m/o 4617 CAC SB Bedford which originally came from the RAAF then Eastwood Bus Service and m/o 4721 CCMC Bedford ex Eastwood Bus Service, so maybe Col used those same buses when he operated that route.????????????????? The other bus that Nicholson had at that time was m/o 939 a normal control Syd Wood Chev which had been with the Kuringai Bus Company.

Red and Cream. Thanks for the above information. I have found more details of m/o 896. State Transport m/o 1579 AEC Waddington shows it going to Eastwood Bus Service as m/o 715 then renumbered to m/o 896. There is also a picture of this bus under Nicholson's in Australian Bus showing it at Auburn. In the picture it has route 172, obviously not a route no. for Auburn and a destination as Berala which would mean it was then transferred to
Sinclair's Auburn District Bus Service.
