I doubt Hornibrook would be supplying TfB with a BZL when they are presumably already monitoring the performance of the ones in service on the Spring Hill Loop...

E has lost 2168-2170 (to virginia) and 2822-2825 ( to toowong), a total 7 busses within the last few weeks, without receiving any replacements. And appears they will be sending more.

Eagle farm has had a bus shortage last 4 weeks with drivers waiting 30 minutes to an hour for busses to return to depot to commence their runs.

Stacks of services cancelled or covered by other depots due E’s lack of busses.

Seems absurd to send away busses while there is already a shortage. Virginia is covering E services in E’s old busses.

Virginia is also notably overflowing while Eagle Farm is half full.
It could be assumed the B8’s sent to toowong are replacing the retiring MAN’s - but sending busses to virginia seems ridiculous.

Is anyone sure of tfb’s reasoning?

Are any MANs actually retiring? A few T gassies have moved to G recently, three noted above last week, plus three or four others a couple of months back. Noted G1325 and G1345 on Willawong runs yesterday (101 and one of the services via Mt Ommaney), but unsure if that is a permanent movement or not.

Can only guess it is short-term pain before some rescheduling is done to move work to other depots?

There was a MAN CNG (1218 I think) parked at workshops with decals removed last week, don't know if this is recent or not

1218 has been out of service for a long time - I believe it has been used for some kind of testing.

is it possible that the reason they send to other depot maybe they will delivery more electric bus to Eagle farm or is it still long way.

also it look not only virginia that overflowing, willawong is also because they get more 13xx from garden city while garden city get more 12xx. I more curious or will some TAG from willawong (or even Garden city) move to sherwood and B8 sherwood move to toowong.

I did hear a rumour that all non-stationlink B8 rigids (2894 - 2916) will transfer from sherwood to toowong, in return sherwood will get around 20 B12's. Not sure where the b12's will come from.

It’s also a rumour multiple B8 RLEA Artics from sherwood are going to Eagle Farm when the metro comes online, E was supposedly doing trails of artics on 333, 330 and 345’s services. 385’s were also rumoured to trial artics although E does not operate them. Unsure if the ‘trials’ have been conducted yet.

Seems unlikely now.

Would be good to see the artics redeployed elsewhere, although there are so BUZ routes where they'd be useful, even those routes already run by the tags (e.g. 130, 140, 150). Really need more of them in the fleet, but I guess that isn't going to happen any time soon.

This, S commencing route training on 130/140/150 shortly…

Maybe BCC has defered the trial on 333 and 340 in favour of the new metro route to chermisde?

But more capacity out to the west could be useful. The likes of the 444 and other western corridor routes could benefit from it.

Heard from a Toowong driver that Toowong depot is getting 60 Volvo BZL’s by 2025.

I'd take that with a grain of salt. 2025 is 15 months away, and Toowong has no electrical infrastructure nor space for 60 vehicles, even with no gas.

It would be good if they support overhead charging. That means they can be charged with the metro fast chargers while running on the network.

I think the Metro chargers will be already be very busy dealing with those buses once they enter service.

100%, Metro chargers are designed for the Metro, i.e only specced for end of route charging. No realistic way to drastically expand the fleet besides whats already planned. Definitely more likely to expand on BZL's at Eagle Farm.

I have heard from Eagle Farm team leaders that E is planning to receive 25 BZL’s by June 2024 with view to replacing all B7’s and B8 rigid busses within the next few years. E will continue to operate B8 RLEA’s on the blue glider.

It is also rumoured all 96 B7’s from E will be sent to replace gas MAN’s elsewhere, maybe garden city/willawong?

Toowong is set to be a full diesel depot operating only B8’s and diesel MAN’s. I assume all Sherwood and Eagle Farm B8’s will transfer to toowong in the near future.
