Weekly Temporary Bus Route Timetable report – Saturday 11 March 2023
19 timetables for upcoming train replacement routes were sighted during the past week.
6 Hunter Valley and 2 Blue Mountains timetables show Hunter Valley Buses and Blue Mountains Transit respectively, as operator. One of the Blue Mountains routes shows in the alert as route 30BM but in the timetable and Trip Finder as 1ABM – which I have seen used before for this route but previously did not show the operator name.
All other rail replacement timetables reviewed showed replacement bus route operators.
There were two alerts for routes 20T4, 23T4 and 25T4 - 13883 for Friday (treated as past week) and 13885 for today and tomorrow (treated as upcoming week). For the former no timetables were sighted – I don’t know about trip finder but there has been a report that no buses were ordered for Friday. Otherwise timetables have been sighted for all routes in the past week
For the upcoming week a timetable was sighted for route 25T4 not showing operator name but not the other two which are normally operated by Transdev John Holland.
Southern Highlands alert 13583 dated 4/3/2023 which includes routes 6SH and 9SH has disappeared but timetables are now present for these routes covering the period 15 April to 30 September which seems strange future dates and not yet covered by an alert. Unchanged from last week.
South Coast alert 13900 for 6/3/2023 which includes routes 5SC and 6SC has timetables for these routes but both show the finishing date as 8 September- again a strange finishing date. Unchanged from last week.
7 timetables covered by 1 Central Coast alert for the week starting 13/3/2023 are still to be sighted.
11 timetables covered by 5 alerts for the week starting 20/3/2023 are still to be sighted.
One timetable has already been sighted for 27 March for route 33T4 but no alert so far.
Ferry replacement route 60 F3 mentioned previously still showed the blue Busways colours despite being operated by Hillbus and still not being tracked by correctly by Tripview but the problem appears solved with Anytrip.

I have stopped doing weekly reports at least for the time being.

The first Easter show timetables have appeared.
Route 4 Tow timetables - one for 6 April to 9 April and one for 10 April to 16 April - this leaves the final day on 17 April to come. Transdev John Holland and the Link Page showed 30 the region code for region 9 and Opal Card accepted,.
Route 1A - Just one timetable for 7 April and 10 April April only. So not the first day 6 April, the days between 7 April and 10 April and the days after 10 April. By Keolis Downer but link page showed region code 01 instead of 29 and showed that Opal card is not accepted

The F3 timetable returns to normal as from tomorrow. But the 60F3 timetable is still open ended and Tripview also shows it as being active for the next week, still not working correctly..
https://transportnsw.info/alerts/details#/ems-12421 shows it as the work continuing to Thursday 20 April.

Routes 1b, 2, 5a, 5b, 6, 7 and 8 now all have 3 separate timetables dated 6/6-6/4, 7/4-10/4 and 11/4-174 so all complete.
Route 4 unchanged from above - still awaiting the final day 17/4.
Route 1a then had two separate link pages this morning which was confusing. One linked to the one timetable for 7/4 and 10/4 only while the other links to one for 6/4 only and only and one for the period 7/4 to 10/4. The first link and timetable had disappeared while I was typing this.

The closure of Parramatta Wharf for nearby construction works has been extended until 20 April. Shuttle bus route 60F3 will continue to run between Parramatta & Rydalmere wharves.

The previously reported route 4 timetables have disappeared and replaced by ones dated 6/6-6/4, 7/4-10/4 and 11/4-17/4 as for most routes shown above. So all routes are now that way except route 1a where the third timetable is still missing.

I noticed the changed dates for route 4, now consistent with other timetables,

Light Rail route 10L1 remains unpublished as far as existing as a PDF. The route 10L1 will most likely be operated by multiple operators.

Apps are actually showing Transit Systems as running 10L1 this week from the random trips just checked (not Transdev), but no timetable file on the transport website.

Re: Temporary Bus Route Timetables

There is a link page for 10L1 but it does not link to a timetable. Anytrip shows it as operated by Transit Systems but I have had no luck with Tripview.

A couple of other points this week:
Route 20T4 which has had a few problems during the last month or so, shows neither link page nor timetable for the operation which starts today. It is not present on Tripview but is present on Anytrip. Routes 23T4 and 25T4 which are part of the same alert do have timetables which do not show the name of the operator, which did show Transdev John Holland until about a month ago. They are present in Anytrip but do not appear to have trips tracked. They are not present in Tripview. All.3 outes are present in the trip finder.

Routes 5SC and 6SC covered replacement services on the South Cast line for a couple of days and will again do starting the 11th April. The timetables for these routes show as starting 6 March and finishing 8th September which would indicate they operated every weekday during that time which is not correct. The next outage starting 11th April also appears to be covered by this misleading timetable.

Similarly the Southern Highlands timetable for a couple of days starting on 15th April using routes 6SH and 9SH are covered by such timetables dated 15 April to 30 September but the relevant alert mentions s specific dates 15 April, 29April, 6 May and 13 May but there are separate timetables for the outage on 12 April.

5SC and 6SC selected services will indeed operate on weekdays over the coming months to replace some rail services not running.

Olympic Park route 1A now has the three timetables for all days of the Easter Show the same as the other routes.

Hunter Valley routes 10HU and 15HU for 20/4 already have their temporary bus timetables to be operated by Hunter Valley Buses but in the case of route 15HU there are two link pages with the first one stating that the route does not operate for the next two weeks but the second one showing the correct information.

Forgot to include this morning,
Route 20T4 is included in alert https://transportnsw.info/alerts/details#/ems-15003 from Friday 7 to Monday 10 April for Eastern Suburbs routes 20T4, 23T4 and 25T4 with no link page or timetable included for route 20T4. For routes 23T4 and 25T4 timetables are accessible but do not show the operator name and state that Opal can not be used. Routes are available in the trip finder and Anytrip but not Tripview but not tracked in Anytrip.
Normally for these three routes Opal is stated as accessible with Transdev John Holland as operator, except for the 11/3/2023 timetables when the operator name was also not shown and it was reported elsewhere that the routes were not operated on the Friday night and operated under an emergency contract on the weekend.

The ESR this weekend is been operated by charter operators with AllStarr coaches been the main subcontractor. Not sure what contract it falls under.

The original release of route 1A timetables had 01 (generic) as the operator identification number, when the timetables were republished just before the Easter Show opened, the operator identification number was changed to 29 (Keolis Downer Northern Beaches).

Three photo threads were posted of buses operating there that weekend on Monday with two of the threads covering Kinetic buses - some in full Kinetic livery and if not they all appear to have the operator name changed from Telfords,

This coming weekend ESR routes 20T4 and 23T4 are again operating but this time with Transdev John Holalnd timetables which are already available..
