PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2023

Post by Zidanehartono »

Welcome to 2023!

Thread Rules:
  • Please ensure the observations you are posting are of your own sightings.
  • Refrain from speculating, posting rumours or making uneducated assumptions. If any posts contain assumptions or opinions which cannot be 100% confirmed as fact, please clearly state this in your post.
  • A number of people are using http://www.perthbus.info as your "observation" source. Information from there is publicly accessible. It is not necessary to repost any information from there in this thread, unless of course it is something you wish to challenge for discussion on here (e.g. confirm accuracy, provide an update etc).
  • Insider information from other social media forums, especially 'private and restricted' groups is NOT publicly accessible and may contain sensitive information, therefore is NOT to be reposted here on Bus Australia under any circumstances.
  • Please limit photos posted in this thread to one good photo that supports your observation. Any additional photos should be posted in the photo section of the forum.
  • PTA / Transperth related observations should relate to sightings of unusual, unrecorded and interesting occurrences, such as buses out of their normal operating area or on routes that are unusual to be seen on.
  • Observations related to the actual bus such as fleet presentation (destination displays, advertising, bus defects/damage etc.) should not be posted in this thread, but be directed to the appropriate organisation if the issue is of concern.
  • Private observations may encompass any new or interesting bus sightings within the private bus scene in WA.

First up for the year, Mandurah's 2231 seen on the circle today. Is this one a recent refurb?

2216-2243 have already been refurbished a while back, not sure about 2135 and 2137 though.

There have been some swaps occured a few weeks back for the Dec 2022/Jan 2023 Mandurah Line closure I believe, 2234 was also on the circles last weekend too ;)

Spotted an ex-MTT Hino RC520P roaming the wild! Well, not the wild per se, more towing a trailer down the Mitchell Freeway this morning. Rego 1EZE409, perthbus.info doesn't have it recorded but an online rego check lists make as Hino with year of 1971. Appeared to be converted for motorhome usage somewhat as it had some gas tanks stored in the back and an A/C unit sticking out of where the rear desto box would be.
I'd post any important, bus-related links I had, but they're outdated anyways.

2177? on 940. But then again, it could have been 2171 and my eyes were playing tricks on me. Been a long day that's why.

2175 on 517. Operator sticker has been removed.

Looks like it moved from WP, possibly along with 2177. Could be at any of the 3 southeastern depots.

What's with so many buses being moved to CVDEP? Is this in preparation for the Armadale Line closure slated to begin later this year?

Given the swap of the 376 to Swan fairly recently, and upcoming timetable changes (which may have resources being diverted from one area to another), it's plausible the swaps may have something to do with that.

Were 2365 and 2707 previously RCDEP? Are these replacing 2175-80 that went to CV?
