Re: Bus Observations 2023
See https://cdcbus.com.au/ride-with-pride/ dated 17 February 2023 for information on CDC Sydney buses in Ride with Pride livery.
I have not been able to identify the 7336 bus. The other one showing 9622 could be a Forest bus.

You'd be correct about 9622 (as it is in Forest Livery at the front)Fleet Lists wrote: ↑Fri Feb 24, 2023 8:39 pmSee https://cdcbus.com.au/ride-with-pride/ dated 17 February 2023 for information on CDC Sydney buses in Ride with Pride livery.

Re: Bus Observations 2023
Point being that it has now entered service after a few months of only operating non passenger carrying journeys. Was actually delivered and registered in November.Fleet Lists wrote: ↑It has been in the fleet list as as 2900 and m/o 6622 since 15th January.
Re: Bus Observations 2023
The Mechanical staff were shown the basic workings of it first.
every driver had to be trained on it at the skid pad (Maitland somewhere)
It was on charter to Newcastle City Council before entering service for Newcastle Transport,Newcastle City Council are looking to replace their aged care buses,Rosa's & Coasters,it was used maybe up to 2 weeks.
A 96 year old person from Bolwarra told me this,he said the seats were too close, but i guess if it was to be used by seniors it would have less seats in it

Re: Bus Observations 2023
Does anyone know what's happened to the remains of Busways 1664 ex Sta 3852 ?? I still have yet to spot it anywhere? Is it cannibalised at Penrith and will it be replaced?

Re: Bus Observations 2023
Look up the fleet lists :"Used for parts by 2/23 without entering service."
I think unlikely to be replaced.

The Denning Element electric buses that are being stored at TfNSW Leichhardt (ex STA site) have recently received accreditation decals and one has received fleet number decals.

The Volvo B10 Oranas are only meant to be short-term replacements for the High floor O405s to ensure enough buses are wheelchair accessible for public servicesFleet Lists wrote: ↑Mon Feb 27, 2023 7:00 pm Look up the fleet lists :"Used for parts by 2/23 without entering service."

And doesn't Busways also have more Elements on the way for Penrith as well as some for Region 7?

Subsequent posts have been moved to the electric bus thread 90408 - we should not be dupicating that here.

In theory, although high floor O405s were operating middle of the day route services out of Penrith (route 770) and Richmond (route 682) last week.MotorOmnibus8562 wrote: ↑The Volvo B10 Oranas are only meant to be short-term replacements for the High floor O405s to ensure enough buses are wheelchair accessible for public services

Re: Bus Observations 2023
Yet to be confirmed as in service however newly 9843 MO Volvo B8R Endura for CDC NSW looks to be going to Thornton Depot possibly. It was parked at the back of their Depot next to a Coastal Liner B10M (Ex BCC) that's been sitting there for the past couple of weeks). Haven't seen the other yet to be delivered Endura's or the low entry B8RLE Optimuses.

More Electric Bus posts have been moved to 90408 - We need to stop duplicating this information.

Re: Bus Observations 2023
There's a fine line between whether some posts are about the electric bus program per se, or simply general operational observations. I think those last comments are borderline though I'm fine with them being moved, but as the electric fleet grows I'm not sure that piling electric bus operational matters into the electric bus thread is going to work without eventually swamping the latter with mundane operational information.Fleet Lists wrote: ↑Wed Mar 01, 2023 8:30 am More Electric Bus posts have been moved to 90408 - We need to stop duplicating this information.
Re: Bus Observations 2023
Given that the posts moved were only generated because the bus involved was an electric, move was appropriate. Once electrics become the norm rather than the exception, then this thread will become the appropriate place, but we are some way from that. But granted some will be line ball.
Re: Bus Observations 2023
Just passed 5x Optimuses heading North on the M2 towards NorthConnex assuming heading for Volvo at Beresfield. No accreditation on any of themScaniaGrenda wrote: ↑Wed Mar 01, 2023 7:35 am Yet to be confirmed as in service however newly 9843 MO Volvo B8R Endura for CDC NSW looks to be going to Thornton Depot possibly. Re: Bus Observations 2023
only have a phone quality photo however former Murrays TV 6815 (#785) now registered on heavy vehicle plates XB65FE was in Newcastle Earlier today, any clue as to who this coach now belongs too? It's got an orange front with a orange curve to the left hand side of the bus with the remainder of the bus in black, no logos, didn't get the accreditation due to being on the other side of the road.
Fleet Lists last reports this as last being with Bankstown Coaches (who are since no longer long around) & deregisted & stored in November 2018.
Coach is a Scania K113TRB 14.5m 8x2 Austral Pacific Royal.

They must’ve been offered a good sign on bonus and let’s hope it works because I heard bad pay and conditions under the private operators is what’s driven so many to quit
