More details of the Box Hill area bus reform in Tuesday's budget:
- 903 SmartBus via Deakin Uni
- 201 Deakin Shuttle frequency boost (presumably incorporating the redundant 768)
- 733 & 767 frequency boosts.

Nick Staikos MP has confirmed the the 767 upgrade will be over the entire route.

Gisborne will get 2 routes, bigger buses and a fixed timetable following a state budget boost.

Still on 2022 Vic budget bus services, but for Armstrong Creek & Surf Coast, there's a thread on MP Darren Cheeseman's page.

Little detail but the local paper says that $13.9m is involved (presumably over several years) https://timesnewsgroup.com.au/geelongti ... te-budget/

No new information yet on the Donnybrook - Craigieburn express bus but it did get funding in the state budget.

See Facebook post from Ros Spence MP leading up to this:

It's described as 'high frequency' here:

More about the Box Hill / Deakin / Southland upgrade package on the premier's website.

https://www.premier.vic.gov.au/expandin ... urnes-east

Route numbers not listed but descriptions match 767 (Box Hill - Deakin - Southland) and Box Hill - Monash - Clayton (busiest part of 733).

This rather sounds like these bus improvements will be an interim measure until (or if) the rail loop is ever built.

An article in the Whitehorse Leader says the Box Hill bus upgrades will happen 'within 12 months'.

https://www.heraldsun.com.au/subscribe/ ... our=append

This is shorter than the normal ~2 year lead time from budget to implementation for bus changes.

Would be great if there were improvements to buses in Wodonga, TFNSW is already doing the heavy lifting in Albury, soon, we'll see a massive overhaul to the bus system in Albury.
