Hi all.
I've been researching the Newcastle Earthquake a lot recently for a school project, and I'm trying to figure out what the union dispute was over STA's 2805. I know it was an ex. Sydney Explorer bus and there is a photo of it somewhere out there.
You can see footage of the union's news interview here where they mention 2805.

Does the bus still exist?
Thanks in advance, Griffin.

From disposal list "Withdrawn from Ryde after accident damage, remains scrapped 2/10"
No idea what it was doing in Newcastle.

Re: Newcastle Earthquake 2805
Newcastle had a couple of ex- Explorer buses which had blue stripes added to the red paintwork to give Newcastle Knights promotion.
The interview mentions that “the 100 km/hr diffs were removed”, perhaps this feature reduced acceleration and hill climbing ability compared to the rest of the fleet?

I thought for sure this thread was about someone coming back from the future to warn us about an earthquake coming up in 793 years!
