I recall the tender docs indicating we'd be up to 1909 withdrawn, and Karrinyup buses into the mid-2030s cascaded the time the new contracts started, although it's entirely possible that may have changed ...

On top of whatever is happening with the fleet for the FAL, regional transfers, potential for other service expansion, and even the choked supply chains, if its expected a Transperth contractor (or contractors) will handle the upcoming 18mo Armadale line shutdown, the extra buses to run these services will have to come from somewhere. I can't imagine the handful of parked NHs across the fleet will be sufficient to make up the numbers without holding OCs back from withdrawal, at least temporarily.

OCs up to 1909 are from the first batch, with their interior reminiscent of the NH. Those are likely to be taken off sometime soon.

Former KP OCs up to 2037 are at SR now. Those being sent to Transdev are the ones 2064 and under.

Also, WP CNG pumps are apparently being phased out IIRC. Will this mean WP OCs will be shifted out to Malaga in return for B8s?

There doesn't seem to have been a steady movement of buses between the two contracts to indicate a phase-out is taking place. My guess would be on some sort of operational reason, like trying to balance out the accumulation of kilometres on different types or average fleet ages.

That would seem to be the rationale with the swaps out of Karrinyup; allowing a new delivery to displace a heavily-used B7 (added benefit of a new bus being in warranty - makes sense to maximise the benefit of that), in exchange for an OC with fairly low average kilometres, to finally send a bus to Freo where it might be used a bit less intensively, and subsequently knock off whatever is next in line. Now while some grumpier bus drivers will allege this amounts to "favouritism" of specific depots or operators, it evens everything out nicely, with the end result presumably being better value for money on the contracts.

Great to see 2707 back on the road following the horrific incident in King's Park. If I had finished work earlier on the day it happened I might hav actually witnessed it first hand.

Nice one, Zidane! That's a pretty rare sighting as that used to only really be used for tent shuttles and only if it was busy or not enough buses etc...
If it's not a ZF, take it back!

For those who are free tomorrow, there will be buses from charter companies and schools at Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre as some schools will be heading there.

4003 was out on a test run around the Kewdale area this afternoon, followed it behind at some point whlist at the helm of a Corolla and managed to snap a pic entering TCWA Kewdale.

Presumably withdrawn from service and on a trip to Manheims at Perth Airport where they'll be sold at auction as with many other O405NH's, just my guess.

Evidently 10 was not as withdrawn as some might've thought...

Are As still going through refurbs?
