Hopefully the SMR depot is safe, I don't want that company to go under.

There is a proposal to build a four lane bridge across the Wyong River where the original Wyong Bridge used to be there until 1967. The present road bridge opened in 1963 was a former railway bridge. It is to be replaced which means the use of the bridge may be reverted as a rail bridge as part of the track quadruplication.

https://roads-waterways.transport.nsw.g ... index.html

"This upgrade will duplicate the Pacific Highway to two lanes in each direction between Johnson Road and Cutler Drive at Wyong, and replace the Wyong River road bridge with two new road bridges.

It will also integrate the rail interchange with bus services, taxi services and disabled and short-term parking, provide new signalised intersections at Rose Street, Anzac Avenue, North Road and Cutler Drive, upgrade the existing intersection at Church Street, and replace the Rose Street rail bridge.

The upgrade will improve traffic flow, travel times and safety for all road users.

Transport for NSW appreciates the significant community feedback provided to date and the strong support for improving mobility and amenity in and around Wyong Town Centre.

We will keep the community updated as this planning continues."

XPT’s have turned 40 today, the end is nigh, they have had a good run, I, for one, will miss them.

If you look at this Channel 7 upload of the event, you can see what seems to be a Tangara Prototype, this MAY be the one seen in the now rather famous "C set comissioning" video, however the interior looks a bit different, maybe a later model or revision.

With the coffee shop opposite platform 3 having closed, it is now no longer possible to get anything to eat on the main concourse of the busiest station in the state...sign of the times.

That "prototype" appears to be a K or C set car with a faux XPT front tacked on. It would be interesting to know how such sets would have run coupled. considering the massive overhang.

Maybe if it served relevant food at decent prices, it might do some business. The days of long meal times for farewells to departing long distance passengers are well past. Not surprising that the "greasy spoons" with good takeaway and cheap coffee on the Eddy Ave ramp do so well.

B11 has been stored at the back of Penrith Yard for nearly a week or so is it unusable in some way or just a downturn in usable B sets? It's on the side where the V Sets store when the Extras run for the Indian Pacific if that makes sense?

It doesn't make sense. Is the Up yard or Down yard?

Maybe B11 got vandalised? Perhaps one of those "graffiti wholetrains" was carried out on it.
Either that or it might have problems with installing the new PIDs.

All I saw on Tuesday and Friday was a couple of T sets in the up yard. But changes every day I go out there.

Due to trackwork T1 North Shore line trains are only running between Hornsby and Wynyard.
Previously they used to run Hornsby-Wynyard every 15 min and a Lindfield-North Syd shuttle every 15 min, but this weekend they're just running Hornsby-Wynyard every 10 min: certainly an improvement if you ask me!
Wonder if this is the first time or if anyone knows when this changed?

The trackwork app. is misleading and does not mention the North Shore trackwork for this weekend.

The Transport Info web page had this:
Saturday 30 April and Sunday 1 May

Trains run between Hornsby and Wynyard only, some to a changed timetable. Change at Wynyard for City Circle trains, or the light rail to continue your journey.
T9 Northern Line trains run between Berowra or Hornsby and Central, platforms 1-12.

Does anyone know why the Meadowbank Bridge has only 2 tracks but the pylons have capacity for around 4?
