LADY NORTHCOTT
Who's recently painted it black? Surely a safety risk if it's to be used at night.......

Maybe they will put some navigation lights on it?

"Alastair, the livery of the Lady Northcott is being changed to better represent her new role in Sydney harbour. We are hoping to keep her as a commuter ferry wherever we can but she will also do cultural cruises and charters."
"The Northcott is looking absolutely amazing and I can’t wait to see her back on the harbour cruising for Tribal Warrior."

All ferry services will be suspended for five hours tomorrow to allow workers to vote on a new enterprise agreement. Seems that while some work practices have improved, some from the dark ages remain.

Yes that horrifying desire to be paid properly......

It is a 24/7 industry, there needs to be a time when all can get together to discuss what is being offered.

No, not getting a pay increase, of course they are entitled to that, but that everybody has to gather in one room and vote. It could be done electronically. If there is a requirement for a briefing, it could be done in a couple of sittings.

You can even pay the electoral office to run the vote as an independent 3rd party. That's how my employer ratifies the EBA, an independent 3rd party manages an electronic/postal vote.
None of this show of hands stuff from only those that could be bothered to show up in person.

The F1 Manly service will revert to an hourly (2x) Freshwater service from 19/12, with Emeralds, to provide a nominal 15 minute service.

"set to hit the water"??"

Wonder how long it will take to actually get them? Hope they got the specs right this time.

There was an announcement about "summer timetables" last week.

The new services have been in Trip Finder since then. Transdev are very slack with uploading timetables; I've had to chase them a couple of times about the Light Rail (L2/L3 hadn't been changed since Feb 2021).

Ferries
Sydney Harbour is always busy over the summer, plan your trip in advance and allow extra travel time.
From 19 December 2022 to 26 January 2023 there will be extra F1 Manly services.
Garden Island Wharf is closed.
For service changes outside of Sydney Harbour, check out details on operator websites.
But it looks like no temporary timetable as used to be issued up until 2021.

Fleet Lists wrote: Sun May 15, 2022 4:29 pm The actual tender document is at https://www.tenders.nsw.gov.au/?event=p ... 0A2682CAA1 and covers separate tenders for the Manly Fast Ferry Service as well as ferry services on the Lane Cove River, with the view of the new services commencing on 1 July 2022. Which only leaves six weeks.
Now we know that a tender has been accepted for the Manly Fast Ferry - some 6 months late, is there any further information as to what is happening to the Lane Cove ferry service which was in the same tender. This service was cancelled early in 2021 and then resurrected at the last minute 24 January 2021.

I was aware of that but the tender still appears to be open, so I wonder if a new contract has been let or is under way.

15yrs is a very long contract.
Just a shame they didn't take the opportunity to fully integrate into the Opal system.

So it started on 1 January 2023.
The captain Cook website timetable does not seem to include a starting date but still appears to be a 2022 one as it shows 2022 private school terms.
https://www.captaincook.com.au/ferry/la ... 1673052947

The Transport Info timetable still starts 1/1/2022 and shows different timetables for private school holidays and terms but no dates for the school terms so it is not known if it needs updating. https://transportnsw.info/documents/tim ... 220101.pdf

As much as that would be nice (along with the other ferries not already on the system), I wonder if the limited number of services (not as likely) or the nature of the contract precludes integration into Opal in the context of things like fare collection etc.
