stajourneyman wrote: Thu Sep 15, 2022 9:23 am From distant memory Walkers of Bendigo had a pair of these.
They were definitely quick off the lights. 😀
The other novelty was automatic transmission after having experienced them only with manual great change.
I felt like I was in an American transit bus. NSBC fitted an auto (a W3 off a Mercedes O305 I suspect as it had the tell tale lock up behavior) on their ex Road Runner Denning coach and just WOW -the sound rather than the performance.

Hi Everyone, I photographed a bus on the very short Broadmeadow to Newcastle Interchange replacement run just last Saturday, would anyone possibly know who the owner of National Heavy vehicle XO29KK is?

This is one of the ex Qantas airport shuttle buses, MAN 14.230 HOCL with NCBC bodywork, still has Qantas Fleet Number 462 on it however no accreditation below the drivers side window or bus companies logos tho still remains in the Qantas Red & White bus livery. Port Stephens has recently been on an acquisition spree with some of Venturas EX Volgrens, so wonder if they picked up this MAN bus as well?

For those who would like the above post demystified, the 113 will be a direct service between Chatswood and the Royal North Shore Hospital.

m/o 6999 helping out on the Newcastle Cruiseship run earlier today, Fleet-lists last has this Volvo noted down as being ran out of Cooma Coaches for the Snow Mountains bus service.

So has definitely returned to Linq Wyong. (Will post photos later on when given the opportunity)

A Transport proposal for a number of changes to The Grand Parade from the Airport Tunnel to Ramsgate should benefit (what's left of) the route 303, and route 478, with all day clearways proposed. One of the maps indicates the all-day clearways extend to part of Rocky Point Rd in Sans Souci as well (I don't see any explicit mention of that in the text though) which would benefit routes 476-7.

There is a bus stop deletion hidden away among the random little alterations along the way, with a Grand Pde southbound bus stop opposite Teralba Rd being axed in Brighton. Also a footpath to the bus stop in Kyeemagh southbound on The Grand Pde near Bestic St (used by SOP event buses in addition to 303).

Feedback is open until late October: https://caportal.com.au/tfnsw/GrandParade

Was on loan to Cooma Coaches till September 18. Obviously it has since returned to Wyong.

Bulletin on the Red Bus website about "new services" commencing from 10 October, although no specifics - https://www.redbus.com.au/news/82-hail-the-bus-driver

A quick glance at the timetables page shows two new express services as an obvious change, 14X The Entrance to Tuggerah and 17X The Entrance to Gosford. https://www.redbus.com.au/timetables

That makes sense. That's actually really good frequency and spread of time. I hope it's a success in getting more cars off the road.

I've noticed several vehicles from the Redy-2-Go airport shuttle bus service parked up in a storage yard near Vineyard.

The new map is version 8 (September 2022).
The route 1A has also had a change to the service by being cut back one stop to Narrabeen Lakes, no longer operating to/from Warriewood.

The changes in April 2022 were only minor - bus stop name changes:
Route 2: Meadowbank renamed to Meadowbank Public School.
Route 8: Dural terminus renamed from Dural Caravan Park to Dural Golf Driving Range.

It is also noted that route 7 appears to be fully operated by Punchbowl Bus Co and no longer shared with Transit Systems.

Could it be a possibility that TSA might be only contracted to co-run ORTA 7 with Punchbowl on the weekdays? During the easter show they would be running during the weekdays while weekends is Punchbowl only. So since the NRL Grand Final is on a Sunday it's a Punchbowl-only operation.

Standards of maintainance have fallen since STA is no more. A Scania L113 I caught I caught along Broadway had that most horrible idle shaking the bus body. A passenger was overheard saying this old bus should be scrapped.
On the return journey I get on this red B12BLEA Werth suspension that kept bottoming out and hurting my back.
I think I know what area of operations these private contractors are preserving their narrow profit margins.

How much expertise was lost in driver training during the handovers as well? If drivers aren't being taught what isn't normal, and what should be defected, you'll never win. There's also this nasty defeatist attitude when it comes to anything but fighting for a payrise, "No point doing X, nothing gets done anyway" or "X buses are just XXX and we don't like them". Not been my experience at all. Time, persistence, and communicating the problem properly and (most importantly!) via the appropriate channels often works wonders.
