There was previously an announcement on Transport Info that the new bus Bankstown Central bus interchange will open on 8 May (you can even see a sneak preview on Google when you search "bankstown central bus interchange"), as part of the mall development. It seems they have removed the announcement link (the url accessed from the above Google search) ?

Anyone know what's with Costal Liner getting some of the other ComfortDelGro buses transferred to them as of late? Fleet-lists reports this afternoon 7334 MO was transferred from Thornton to Warnervale. I was figuring they'd be the "Depot" that receives the close to end of life buses but 7334 is still a modern bus.

Not sure but observed it yesterday passing work at Tuggerah (Johnson Rd)

Do OSMBSC contract holders need permission from Transport For NSW to transfer buses between regions if this is the case then CDC would of had to got permission to transfer 7334 MO from OSMBSC region 2 to OSMBSC region 11

Although notionally separate contracts, appears that operationally region 11 was merged into region 2 after CDC purchased Coast Liner. TfNSW timetables show the operator as Hunter Valley Buses. Although the brand has been retained, Coast Liner buses carry HVB accreditation.

In answer to the question, probably not as it appears that the regions have already merged operationally. Although there may be a requirement to return assets to their correct regions at the end of a contract should they change hands. Wouldn't be surprised to see region 11 merged with region 6 (Busways) when that is tendered, seeing that the former Coast Liner services are operated jointly by both Busways and HVB.

Central Coast Regions.
From a contract point of view it may only be the region 11 routes which would be merged into region 6 as from what I have heard region 2 is not up for tender.

The region 11 contract was renewed till 30-Jun-2028. It is unlikely to be merged with region 6 until that time.

Speaking of the OTHER region 11, several bus stops around Caringbah still say "Caringbah Bus Service" on them. Some have the text just saying "Bus Service".

Amazing how militant the TWU has suddenly become since the politics of envy permeated the workplace, without seeing the big picture. Those higher tier drivers were there first. It's amazing how many people don't respect seniority.

Perhaps someone pointed out to them they've sold out at a few too many depots in more recent years, and stand to lose more members if they keep it up...

Still can not find the official notification.

Forgot to note that yesterday morning I saw former 3598 mo parked out at the back of Thornton CDC Depot. Interesting they'd bring a dereg bus that was moved to storage at Edgeworth back to Thornton. The rear end of it was missing which means it was being used for parts for the two remaining B6LE's which I'd imagine don't have much time left themselves.

Also I was wrong on 4696 MO being scrapped, it was back in it's usual position yesterday. Must've moved somewhere temporary to allow room for 3598 to come on through.

A pic would have been nice. I find "rotten row" buses pure unadulterated fascination!

The back of the depot faces onto Thornton Rd, a busy main road that either (depending on the direction your going) takes you to a roundabout or into inner Thornton towards the station there is no safe walkway for pedestrians either since there is no reason for anyone to be walking on that particular road. These observations were made as I was travelling along said road in a car & on the way to work so no can do for pictures unfortunately. The two deregistered Csepels have been there forever, occasionally a 3rd bus will appear out the back, I've seen a few Costal Liner Coaches when they've been in for inspections or repairs and over the past weeks the Qcity Mercedes 815DL (Tho that may now be somewhere else)

This year would mark 25 years of service for a lot of the remaining 98 - 99 model buses that operate within the CDC HVB fleet so I sadly suspect we'll see the O405NH's get phrased out soon & possibly the 12.220 MAN's as well.

I think they go to specialist commercial vehicle wreckers who extract any useful mechanical bits and often export them overseas where they're repurposed.
That's what happened with the late STA's Mercedes 0305 fleet, I read on the board. Their hub reduction axles were shipped off to some dodgy third world hovel for reuse.

The Perth fleet that were not auctioned went straight to SIMS to be crushed. Not sure if all were towed - or how much parts scavenging took place prior.

I found an old ex. ACTion bus in Tarcutta, just next to the ampol a while ago. It's listed as for sale, for only around $14,000 I think.

CDC Thornton Scania K270IB SB400 operating a 181 to Rutherford Oval but heading away from Rutherford???

Edit: Second SB400 Also doing a 182 to Thornton, weird I've never seen them run non-accessiable buses in the last 7 years on the main service routes (181,182,183).

Image

Edit 3: on second thoughts I think Anytrip might be getting fed garbage data, no way would the Csepel be on the 145.

Image

Edit 4: Fourth & last edit. It's real, I did a run to the service station to get fuel and passed the 181 Rutherford bus along the way and it really was an Endura.
