former m/o 3763 from STA Kingsgrove. Fleet-lists says last with TAFE NSW so looks like they've finished up with it. CT39MA is it's current rego according to the pictures.

Is this replacing the layover on the Warringah Freeway? There are changes to the freeway being mentioned in connection with the new tunnel.

In addition to the existing layover, not big enough to replace the existing one.

The existing layover at Cammeray golf course is accommodated in the design of the Warringah Freeway Upgrade.

You can see a drivers view video render of the bus lane towards the bottom of the page here: https://caportal.com.au/rms/wht/gallery

Nice find! Thanks for sharing this with us!

Any idea on what TAFE New South Wales might have been doing with this bus? Quite interesting actually.

Regards, Ben.

Rte 400: When the new stops were introduced in the LR interchange, the existing stops on Anzac Pde near the pedestrian crossing were eliminated. Up until recently Eastgardens bound services used the normal traffic lanes turning right towards Gardeners Rd the left into the interchange.
Yesterday I noticed a service approaching in the tram lane. Is this a new initiative, or just a "rogue driver"? Where would the bus have switched into this lane, obviously after UNSW?

There's a section of tram lane without kerb just south of Middle St that I think was designed for buses to change into the tram lane but never marked as such. Presumably the lights at Daceyville Jct allow a bus into the interchange from the tram lane?

There are signals that allow for continued bus operation in both directions along the tram corridor all the way from just south of Alison Road to the Kingsford Bus Interchange, including at the 9-Ways intersection for access into the interchange.

I have uploaded a section on industrial routes in sydneybusroutes.com

Consistent information about these routes is hard to get, so there are almost certainly some inaccuracies and fuzzy information. Nevertheless, see

Very comprehensive ...a great effort. :D

A couple of things ...

1. the 385 industrial seems to have been overlooked in the list.

2. There were also 309 shortrunners that ran from/to either the city or Redfern to Gardners and Botany Rd in the peaks.
I don't know if you would count them as an industrial run or just a shortrunner of the 309s to Botany etc.

The 385 was renumbered to 085, and is mentioned as such.

Thanks for comment. 385 is actually shown under Eastern Suburbs routes (part 4). When it started in 1950, it was a full time route, therefore not industrial. But over the years, it gradually became an industrial route. Quite a few other normal routes also had some industrial trips, eg, 309, 343 (and its short-workings), 402, 403, 409 and many others. So how to categorise?

Yes, I noticed that and I would like to read it too, but don't have access to the log in. Can somebody "on the inside" unlock it or post it for us?

STA Bus 3895

Post by wdepot »

Over recent months, I have observed 3895 (Volvo B10BLE APG Orana) on several routes belonging to Waverley depot (W), however according to the Fleet Lists, this bus is at Brookvale (V). I saw it this afternoon at approximately 6.30pm at the QVB on a 325 route to Watson's Bay with a W run plate, so it is definitely at W. Should the Fleet Lists be updated to reflect this?.

While walking along Anzac Parade today (26/11/21), I noticed an outbound '392X' service, and a few minutes later an outbound 'X96' service went by. Interesting to see the inconsistency of route format. While I know the route format will change from 'X**' to '***X' on 5 Dec coinciding with the new Eastern Suburbs bus changes, it's still interesting to see this when there's about 1 1/2 weeks till the new network kicks in. :)

Presumably the news destinations have been uploaded. It appears that the old ones aren't always cleared out either, recently saw a 343 displaying Chatswood, a destination it hasn't served since January, while before it was curtailed, 430s could be seen displaying M30 some months after the route was renumbered.

A few years back, it took months for the 10 Metrobus to transition to m10.
