E2880 on Route 196.
Re: Transport for Brisbane Observations 2021
E1663 on a Blue CityGlider this morning
Re: Transport for Brisbane Observations 2021
S2915 on a 124 at Henson Road according to AnyTrip.
I think that all B8RLE rigids from Sherwood depot should only stay within the 109, and never on any other route (unless if transferred)!

S2915 is not a Stationllink-liveried bus - S2918 thru S2925 are the Stationlink buses.

Re: Transport for Brisbane Observations 2021
E2826 running an outbound 230, can probably assume it has had the CityGlider wrap removed.
S1638 has also made it's way onto a 175 tonight.

Route 480 will cease operation from next Monday, 16th August due to low patronage.

Re: Transport for Brisbane Observations 2021
Who would have thought?
- Lack of onward network connectivity (terminating at Toowong would have been a much more logical spot and provided a useful route)
- In the middle of an international tourism ban (COVID hasn't really helped patronage on any routes)
- Running at low frequencies (if you just miss a bus, by the time you have to wait for the next one 20 mins later, you could have already been up to the lookout and back again).
Aside from the fact it's a free route, there are many more routes out there that are just carrying air and burning money. The 311/12/13/14 can all be replaced by just 1 or 2 more frequent feeder services, 122, 172, 223/224, 322, 338, 354, 361, 362 can all be redesigned to cut at least 15 mins out of the travel time, just straight out remove most CBD rockets, 61, 160, 321, 336/337, reduce route duplication down Gympie Rd, OCR, Coro Dr, truncate more services at Indro, split up the GCL into more frequent and direct cross town connectors, better combine "pair" services to begin with (e.g. 110/115, 130/140, 139/169, 306/322, 380/381, 453/454, the list goes on. Why aren't we saving money and reducing these inefficiencies first before taking out routes with potential?
This (assumed) network overhaul co-insiding with the start of the "Metro" services cannot come soon enough!

Re: Transport for Brisbane Observations 2021
Cazza,
It will be very interesting to see what happens with the network ‘overhaul’. I like to hope that there will be, as you say, a lot more trunk and feeder type routes which help provide more services to the burbs, than every bus going to the city.
Metro does bring an opportunity, but whether or not it will be fully exploited who can say…

1298 at G, not sure if any friends went with it. Seems to be a new transfer (or very temporary one) as the G hasn’t been applied yet.
Re: Transport for Brisbane Observations 2021
It is definitely a hope, but an optimistic one. BCC have been talking all the talk re a better public transport network, they just have to walk the walk really. The ball is in their court.^^__^^ wrote: ↑Fri Aug 13, 2021 7:02 am Cazza,

With such substantial changes required across the whole TfB network, they really should be starting a review and consultation within the next 6 months at the very latest if they have any hope in creating a connected and efficient network, as well as having enough time for public consultation and education.
Re: Transport for Brisbane Observations 2021
Interesting that it hasn't had the depot letter updated accordingly.

Re: Transport for Brisbane Observations 2021
Why do these MAN CNGs kept being transferred from Toowong to Garden City??? I initially thought three years ago, Toowong must have kept all MAN CNG 1200s and 1300s [up to 1345 except 1313-1321] and retrofit with new Thoreb white LED signs when Toowong began ordering B8RLEs, instead of just transferring Toowong MAN CNGs to Garden City. Anyways, according to Anytrip, B8RLE T2814 is on a 360 to Brookside.
Re: Transport for Brisbane Observations 2021
E2827 is now in clean skin.

Montague Road, West End - temporary stop closure
From Monday 30 August until Friday 17 September the following stop in West End will be closed for an upgrade.
If you normally catch the Blue City Glider or route 192 from here, please use the alternative stop shown below.
Wait sorry, how long has this intersection upgrade been completed? And the newly improved bus stop already needs to be closed for 3 weeks for an upgrade? You would hope it is to do with drainage or some other unforeseen problem and not a design issue...
