In the Enron movie “The smartest guys in the room” it shows how shonky energy companies can be if the government lets them so I was pleased that Scott Morrison said he would be happy if private enterprise would provide sufficient power for when the wind was not blowing or the sun was not shining at the right price and if they would not then the federal government would build another gas powered 250MW station before Liddell shut.
I hesitate though on drilling in farmland when the Prelude https://www.shell.com/media/news-and-me ... -flng.html could easily provide more than enough gas to the Newcastle Gas Storage Facility https://www.agl.com.au/about-agl/how-we ... e-facility

The new gas fired power station announced by SCOMO is just like a guarantee in my mind similar to defence spending where you hope you never have to use it.

I am amazed that people who are a lot smarter than me do not get it.

As Australia has both land and protestors unlike England or China I still think Aussies are best with wind and solar backed up by gas fired generators in case of a week of rain with no wind in any state. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7DNeJf1v10

Only with batteries do you have a limit but gas generators are limitless.jackfarrah1991 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 23, 2021 8:16 pm And how much electricity will there be? Will I be able to play games?
