Re: Brisbane Metro
Mention of the network review is interesting. Am still struggling to picture how they're planning to integrate the Metro into the rest of the network without truncating so many services that the Metros end up over-capacity from day one.
There's also the question of where all these services will terminate if they're reduced to feeders - there's very little in the way of infrastructure to permit this along the busway, let alone in nearby side-streets.
We'll see what happens, but I think the bigger question that needs to be asked is, is it really necessary to have buses from as far away as Greenbank (or farther south than that), the Redlands and so on even feeding the S.E. busway? There are usually heavy-rail alternatives much closer than the busway system, so perhaps it would be more appropriate to be looking at more rail feeders regardless of who the operator is, especially with the CRR project eventually freeing up more capacity for the south-east.

Re: Brisbane Metro
It's really a huge change. Overall, I agree with the proposal for those parts related to my residential area.743 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 10, 2022 1:23 pm Proposed changes to the bus network have been announced.

I think the fleet now numbers as many as 8-10 - spotted 9008 heading through the cultural centre.
Re: Brisbane Metro
9009 has been out recently.
Re: Brisbane Metro
On the weekend I caught a bus from platform 1 at KGS and noted that the new platform screen doors were pretty flash. When they open they turn Green on the edges and when the bus is ready to leave they start flashing Red around the edges. Not sure if this is meant to be an automated prompt for the bus driver to close their doors and leave? Although I think it's likely to be integrated with metro, so that the metro bus doors and screen doors open and close simultaneously, like that of train metro doors and platform screen doors.

Re: Brisbane Metro
I think you're reading too much into that. It likely turns red once the buses' doors shut to indicate the doors will not open again. Perth Busport has a similar (albeit less obvious) setup.

Part of Platform 2 is near completion and likely to open over the next week or two ---> viewtopic.php?p=1108008#p1108008
