Hornibrook Buslines

Post by Skyblue1 »

Hello,
Does anybody know if anything has been withdrawn or transferred out from Hornibrook Buslines since the last 4 scania's came on board?? I live near clontarf garage and have not seen any of the volvo's (41-43).
Also, are the MAN's (101-104) going to get repainted or does withdrawl beckon??
Thanks Martin

I saw 104 last night doing a Toombul 327 service so presumably it is now at Lawnton.

Hi all. There are at least 6 new scanias parked up at Volgren Eagle Farm labelled up for Hornibrook Buslines. Also seen this morning was 98 on the 998B school run, usually had 92 on it.
Be interesting to see what's gone / going.

The O405's may not make it to Adelaide, they may go straight to NSW for the new contract there.

Interestingly enough I noticed these 2 Mercs in Adelaide today. I followed these two red and white buses (numbered 95 & 96) from Main North Rd where they ended up at St Agnes Depot operated by Light-City Buses. They sounded really good!!

Hi all, seen yesterday on the hornibrook bridge was an all white volgren bodied bus (same as the current build at Eagle Farm) working a 695 to Rothwell. It was actually displaying 395.
I'll get more details when I see it next.
Thanks

Hiya, this white single decker at Hornibrook seems to have gone to North Lakes now. It was displaying 385 on the back desti. Also seen Merc 365 still displaying its 'C' prefix at Clontarf.

The white single deck is back at Clontarf... Still no fleet number and rear desti is stuck on 350 now. The body looks Volgren, same fronts and sides, new desti box on rear but it look defo Volgren bodywork.

Hornibrook 109 has been fully repainted into white with maroon front and back. Looks smart. Guess no translink green for this one then.

Keeping an eye out for it, went to Queen St yesterday to see if it would turn up on a 310. Then I went to Chermside to see if it would turn up on a 680. A no-show at both places.

Is there a reason why these buses aren't being put into TransLink livery?

Do they not do TransLink services (although 45 obviously does)?

110 is now in Translink green / white livery minus logos. 105 has been repainted in red / white. Not sure about the painting policy at Hornibrook, seems whatever paint is around at the time!!

Does anyone have any information on exactly what the desto sign would say when doing a 315 to Brisbane CBD (including capitalization)? I have built a Hornibrook Bus Lines Scania Volgren CR225L bus (in Hornibrook colors) out of LEGO and am doing up custom stickers for the desto sign and want to get it looking accurate to what the 315 would actually look like.

Most of the time it has P315 Prepaid into Brisbane but on an orange background with black writing, then scrolls the other way. Also scrolls with Brisbane express. Coming back into Scarborough it would scroll with all the above except Scarborough express. Hope this helps
