The Vin has not come up in my records.

Welcome maddog! Does the body number have any letters? The number doesn't sound right, as usually Volgren body numbers are two letters, indicating their factory, and then 4 numbers, e.g. VP1974 indicates 1974th body built at Volgren Perth. Perth-built bodies are given code VP, Dandenong bodies are given VG (possibly for Vol(vo)-Gren(da)), Malaysian bodies VM, former Queensland bodies VQ, and Tomago bodies VT. They should be present on your bus if built by Volgren, unless it was built by a different company using a Volgren kit.
Adding on, body 7474 for an O405 doesn't sound right either, as it was only about 2 years ago that Dandenong hit VG5000...
I'd post any important, bus-related links I had, but they're outdated anyways.

679 indeed looks superb and crisp in the ferry blue! A fantastic job at driving her and 686 from Broome, then restoring them!

Juicy! You have one of my regions former buses
VG706 formally last with Rover Coaches of Cessnock (1823 MO), Vin WEB35700161078609 (Going by the Fleet-list on it) and a 1995 Bus, has a lengthy history behind it with it being through numerous operators in its life.
So you were right with it being a "Newcastle" bus, well close enough. Was the only O405 Volgren alongside its sister 4598 MO to reside in the Hunter region to my knowledge.
