226 is the dirtiest bus I have ever seen, has anyone seen the cab door? It's in need of a real clean apart from the m&ms the Gagebrook residents chucked all over the floor, on the way through town today. And the rattles going up Melifront Street.

The best thing you can do is call the hotline and tell them.
Maybe then it will be cleaned.

No one can clean that cab door, it looks like it was in a bushfire. Excuse my comments, it may offend people that like 226.

229's cab door looks like it was in a bushfire. That one cannot be cleaned.
All others can be.

138 and 112 have appeared at Springfield today. No sign of 139.
Maybe Vern can confirm if it's still in service?

Since U R IN THE KNOW, is #112 to be retired, like I had heard #145-#147 were supposed to be (but haven't been)
YES Steve. VOVII prototype.stevegj52 wrote:#112, wasn't that the VOVMk2 prototype?
Doubt it. yoda's been up there quite a bit, and he'd KNOW if it's returned from Lonnie. It was still in service in Launceston with #138 (the last 2 VOVIs in service in Tas) but sounds like the end is VERY nighScaniaL94UB wrote:139 is at Bridgewater satelite/grave yard I'm pretty sure.

Going by my eyes this evening, 112's future has been determined. It has been fitted with Hobart destinationsTas Bus Nut wrote:Since U R IN THE KNOW, is #112 to be retired, like I had heard #145-#147 were supposed to be (but haven't been)
Bridgewater is only an operational Satellite Yard.ScaniaL94UB wrote:139 is at Bridgewater satelite/grave yard I'm pretty sure.
Shall wait on vernbale to confirm, but certainly haven't sighted it down hereTas Bus Nut wrote:It was still in service in Launceston with #138 (the last 2 VOVIs in service in Tas) but sounds like the end is VERY nigh

As far as I know, 710, 253, 221, 222 and 223 lived/live at Bridgewater, but I got told by a mate that 223 is at Kingston, 221 is at Springfield and 222 is over Eastern Shore way. 245 at Springfield.

The VOV Mk 1's have just about been withdrawn from service. Now it looks like the Mk 2's are detined for the same fate

Re: Tasmanian Bus Observations July 2012.
As mentioned previously, buses living at satellite depots NO LONGER HAPPENS. Buses are rotated on a daily basis, as they are at Springfield. The days of designated satellite buses ARE FINISHED The ONLY exceptions to the rule, are the NON-urban regions like Woodbridge, Gordon, Middleton & Cygnet. THESE details have been listed before on numerous occassions.ScaniaL94UB wrote:As far as I know, 710, 253, 221, 222 and 223 lived/live at Bridgewater, but I got told by a mate that 223 is at Kingston, 221 is at Springfield and 222 is over Eastern Shore way. 245 at Springfield.

Is it just me, having not been paying attention in recent times, but it seems there are notably more MAN midis getting about at the moment than I have noticed before? With so many being sold off and others stored at Rogerville, I was under the impression their days on the road were finished? Good to see them still about.

Re: Tasmanian Bus Observations July 2012.
Don't know why there are so many movements of them recently, as the remaining ones have been in/out Metro getting checked over (presumably for sale). Quite a few have passed into new operators/owners recently, which is quite surprising, considering they sat round for so many years without selling (might be truth in the rumour, Buy 1 Get 1 Free) Even the remaining VOVIs are making an appearance
Re: Tasmanian Bus Observations July 2012.
Another update.... my assumptions were wrong.
112 and 138 are BOTH returning to Hobart's streets! 139 will be transferred shortly and join them too!

Both were in the workshops last night. Someone more in the know than us (because they have to do the work ) confirmed it.
Re: Tasmanian Bus Observations July 2012.
I probably would have understood them getting shuttled about as empty/out of service runs driven by mechanics for what you suggested TBN, but the thing that really threw me was that these were carting passengers! Seeing passengers on a Busy Bee liveried MAN was a real blast from the past!Tas Bus Nut wrote:Don't know why there are so many movements of them recently, as the remaining ones have been in/out Metro getting checked over (presumably for sale).
