But why repowered to cummins/allison?

Whats wrong with Voith?

And I don't understand why NZ bus has chosen Allison instead of Voith, the Enviro 200 standards

They're gutless with their current MAN engine and crappy 3sp Voith.

Considering the 17.223's have the same engine as the 12.223's, as well as being longer, pulling an extra axle and lugging a massive thermo king unit at the back. An engine change would probably increase efficiency and give drivers a lot more power behind the pedal. 8)

Just in keeping with the thread, there was a fully assembled enviro 500, with the new front like the 200 and the 400's but in unpainted form, two door bus but apparently its left for evaluation purposes, this might be for you? Also, someone said theres 2 coming for trial? You might get a 2 axle enviro 400, we have 100 of them here in Dublin and are the short length and are very manuverable......, ours are taller than normal, good headroom in our buses in Dublin compared to what was the norm yrs ago

Ours will not be 2 axle - they will be Tag's.

As far as I know that Enviro500 with new front that send to Millbrook is a test bed

It has ZF axles instead of Dana, battery relocated from under the driver seat to behind the 3rd axle

Busways? Is this the busway on the side of the Northern Motorway in Auckland? Is it just one bus coming?

The Northern Express Busway... The Ritchies Tag Axle Scania's are pretty full these days.... The deckers would be brilliant on that service

No, just seeking an alternative Chassis supplier and builder that would meet NZ vehicle standards. The ADL 500 is overweight and overwidth.

I think rumours going around the ADL for NZ bus will be Kiwi body Enviro 500 like the one for Melbourne with twin staircase

I wonder if the Malaysian built DD buses bound for for Ritchies will like these SBS Transit Scania K310UD built by Gemilang coachworks.
