Me too! 70's and 80's rock music rules! Luckilly for me Horizons West is my School bus provider and does Rail Replacement in Perth so I have caught my favourite SA buses which are: 1st: M.A.N SL200 (especially 1907), 2n Mercedes-Benz 0305G, 3rd Mercedes-Benz 0305, 4th Volvo B58/B58H and finally Volvo B10M. But still, Mercedes-Benz 0405's rule!Lt. Commander Data wrote:I actually can't stand most music from this century, 70s and 80s Rock is my forte.
So really it depends on what it is. And, IMO 2000 was part of the 20th century. I would love to be about 10 years older than I am, just becuase I missed so much good stuff when.
0405's are awesome!!

Wow, you are a lucky sob! A delectable gourmet selection of ex Adelaide classics.
And yes, 0405s are proof you don't need to go British for a great sounding bus.
I am in the fortunate situation to have 0405s with ZF growling past my house Mon - Fri here on the the Central Coast of NSW, thanks to Busways receiving a load of extra units from their Sydney based depots.

Very lucky, even Swift is lucky compared to me. Mostly Scania L94UBs in my region, with some L94UB 14.5s and K-series crap as well.

Seeing this photo. Does the person who designed this really think this is what one sees, when driving towards this b*****d when it's setting?

Poll finds that 49% of Australians support a Muslim ban, which is surprisingly high. Party breakdown was very surprising for the Greens, 34% of Green supporters support a Muslim ban.

And yet a poll conducted in my class (the future generation) today, 100% supported Muslim Immigration/Ayslum Seekers. Most (if not all) terrorists (of the Muslim rreligion) are not refugees, but rather citizens of a country that have been radicalised.

A very naive class. They need to watch some Paul Joseph Watson and Pat Condell on YouTube for a bit of reality.Lt. A poll like that is what can be called a straw poll. They are 0% reliable.

On that note, at least I'm not the only Greens voter with similar thoughts.

I just watched it, honestly, they're idiots. That won't stop me from being part of the 34% but those Youtubers are a bit too far for me.They need to watch some Paul Joseph Watson and Pat Condell on YouTube for a bit of reality.

Did you watch more than 30 seconds? You lose all credibility labeling them simply as idiots because you can't handle what they say.rogf24 wrote:I just watched it, honestly, they're idiots. Tim is an idiot too.
I don't agree with most of the Youtubers positions and I don't oppose them holding those views either, but their arguments seems like they come from another planet and border lines on conspiracy theory. I'm fine with Andrew Bolt and Fox News, but those Youtubers are just bizarre.
If you say that people loose credibly by simply calling others idiots, then that Paul Watson guy has done so himself by calling Gary Johnson an idiot. Apparently, one of he's crime was showing at least some level of respect for his opponent.

Which is why I keep them untile they drop. 1989 Ford Laser. Not very powerful, hard suspension, uses more fuel than a 1.6 litre has a right to, but reliable and I get satisfaction driving it.busrider wrote:I just saw my old car (my first one as well) on a car sales group on Facebook. Mine was a 1977 Merc 240D... Lots of little things wrong with it, but it'll probably still run forever. Not exactly economical, and certainly not fast... My current car is an 02 Magna. Drives well enough, but doesn't quite have the same sense of occasion that the Merc did...

Re: What doesn't give you the S&#T's, or make you Happy?
My first was a 1978 Valiant. Chronic body rust and a transmission on it's way out persuaded me to sell it to a guy for parts in 2000 after nearly five years of inexpensive motoring (it ran on LPG in the days when it averaged about 30c a litre).
I once got 400km to a 70l tank in pure urban driving by applying extremely light throttle.
When I got another car (1987 Ford Laser manual- on gas), everybody was asking "where's the beast?".

Still not knowing the magic trick to replicating the most unique revs I've ever heard on any SL202 using Audacity....

Most, if not all Pre-1990s music.
Older Windows OS' (I still use W2K quite regularly, OS X 10.6.8 is my daily-driver on the MBP).
Any service-bus that is O405NH (incl. CNG) or older, yes, even some of these wickedly tired Renaults that still blunder around - better than nothing, in my opinion.
A quiet walk through wetland bush, or the multi-km walk (march) I do everyday.
The "Merc-Mobile," which isn't a Mercedes, but still German and 23 years old.
Certainly slower than most any new "rice burner," but still comfortable and very economical, although you really do need to give it a workout to get moving. Definitely not as slow as a Mercedes 190D/240D/300D "Glacier Replacement Vehicle," although I've certainly considered trading up my German from time to time.
