What makes you happy today?
This is an opposite of the "What gives you the shits" thread.
I must say, the courier mail have outdone themselves with today's politician mugshot of Anna Bligh.
Priceless!

Re: What makes you happy today?
What makes me happy is to listen to a courageous, principled person like Rob Oakeshott (one of the federal Independents about to decide who the Government is.)
I just hope they don't get to him and turn him into a ratbag.

What made me happy.......... the Brisbane Broncos being defeated by the Canberra Raiders in the NRL so for the first time in about 19 years the Broncos wont be appearing in the Finals.
This makes me very bloody happy.

I agree, but probably for different reasons, likeVolvo B12BLEA wrote:What made me happy.......... the Brisbane Broncos being defeated by the Canberra Raiders in the NRL so for the first time in about 19 years the Broncos wont be appearing in the Finals.
This makes me very bloody happy.
a) less TV coverage of said team
b) no more games at Suncorp Stadium
c) generally we don't have to hear about them anymore
In other news, My GPA generally keeps me happy

Yes, I hope things can be sorted out quickly - heard the reports on the news this morning. Sounds like it's going to take a while, but at least not hearing reports yet of loss of life.Vitalstatistix wrote:What makes me happy today.... What made Me happy today was riding double-decker trams in Blackpool, UK.
What made Me happy yesterday was doing a return train trip on the Settle=Carlisle line, UK.
What made Me happy on Thursday was spending the day on the Keighley Worth Valley Railway in Yorkshire.
What made Me happy on Wednesday was spending the day on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and visiting in the process the lovely town of Whitby, home to Captain James Cook.

I just wish we could all get along like we used to in Middle School, I wish that I could bake a cake made of rainbows and smiles and we'd all eat it and be happy.

Re: What makes you happy today?
She's probably in a safer position as regards the leadership than most, if not all, of her predecessors. Given the Independents' decision to back Labor is in part based on the view that Labor is the most likely party to be able to provide a stable government, any move against her would probably result in a no-confidence motion against the government, and the government doesn't have the numbers to win anything unless it has the support of the Independents............laptop15 wrote:Wouldn't happen - especially the damage that occurred booting out Kevin, why do it again?busrider wrote:

Arrr let's see, how many leaders have they had again, & one of them being the ELECTED prime minister?! Then we have 1975. But ditto for Liberals, but I don't think they've kicked out a Liberal PM yet.laptop15 wrote:HERE HEREC130 wrote:Having Labor in power, providing a stable government, and as their campaign stated, helping to more Australia forward
