Laser Redline edition bubble hatch. Basically a GL with a few extras like the tacho instrument cluster, sportier cloth trim, two tone paint and red pinstripe in the sides and bumpers and TX3 alloys. Taken in Blackwall near Ettalong Beach today. It's rare to see any KE Laser nowadays, much less a Redline.

It's sedan sibling can be seen behind.

Interesting car sightings from me on Saturday September 3:
1. Not one, not two but THREE brand new new generation Ford Ranger Wildtrak V6 turbo diesels (one of which was in Sedona Orange)
2. Not one, not two but THREE brand new Toyota Landcruiser 300 Series SUV's
3. The unicorn in this sighting set, a 1997 Toyota Landcruiser 80 Series 40th Anniversary Edition
4. And the most trippiest goes to a 2022 Genesis GV80 Diesel AWD that was self-parking in a reverse rear in position in the Aldi Dubbo car park

Took a picciewiccie tonight of this extraordinarily straight XH panel van. It looked to be in faultless shape. Would make a great stealth camper this one.

Swift, those rims were fitted to all XH Longreach utes and panel vans with the 1 tonne rated suspension. If you did not opt for the 1 tonne suspension, you got the standard steel rims with the removable centre cap that was retained by the wheel nuts

Thanks for the info! I know models like the jacked up BA/BF utes came with the Sunraysia style rims but was hazy on the XG/XH series.

As for privacy. you are legally permitted to photograph in a public or publicly accessible place, except to aim the lens into the room of a private residence. No expectation of privacy out in public.
If you want to ask out of courtesy that's up to you but you don't require their consent.

Not all rare but interesting to see this assortment if 4WD/crossovers all on the lawn at Bunnings Erina.

Ford Territory and Subaru Outback.

Here's a rarer one. A Diahatsu Feroza II. Note the bizaar blanked out taillights with blanking plates the same shape as the taillights that used to be there, replaced with bumper mounted taillights. As you can see that was a pretty stupid idea of an update. The owner had to be creative in replacing a busted set on the RH bumper.

The blanked out lights are a consequence of our ADRs. The rear mounted spare wheel impacts on the required side sight-lines of the lights, so they have to be at a lower level. Quite a few SUVs of that era have this modification; some partially retain the original lights, but they don't work.

The right hand light assy on this one doesn't appear to be original like the l/h side?

It's one of those generic LED lights used for trailers you get at auto accessory stores. Quite clever and appropriate for a rugged vehicle like that.

That's right I have seen dummy lights used on the body with only the bumper mounted lights functional.

Thanks Boronia for letting its know what was with this. I always thought it was an edgy styling idea by the manufacturers.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Feroza's blanking panels are the taillight shells painted up, rather than specially made plastic panels.

I think we've been here before a good few years ago and the position is, if I recall correctly, that a person could not object if they happen to be in a picture taken in a public place, as long as they have not been made the subject of the photograph.

I have researched this subject and have read conflicting info regards whether you can point it into a private resident's room. I was recently told it's on the home owner to create privacy and you can point it anywhere in the direction of private property.
This is the first I've heard of an individual having to give permission to be the specific subject.
The right to photograph or video out in public was upheld officially by a ruling from the High Court of Australia.
There's still grey areas that come up when researching this. It needs to be made crystal clear to stop feeding ammo to those who insist on consent.

The only vaguely interesting vehicle I have seen lately is a Toyota Corona station wagon in North Parramatta. Now I never thought I would call a Corona interesting, but this one had a limited edition Olympic Games insignia on the front wheel arches, and a bit of Googling tells me that it was a 1984 model. The red paint was so badly weathered that it was almost the same colour as the orange logo.

BMW's of that era are still an incredibly stylish looking vehicle, the M30 i6s are a sound motor, and they drive very well. I had an E36 for many years and still miss it.

That was probably the peak era for BMW in advancement yet dependability.
There's a white five series like that up the street from my place, but looking worse for wear. The garnish panels below the headlights are missing.

Good survivor find in the KB. They used to be everywhere.
Just down from my place (yes again but in the other direction) there was an immaculate white KA Laser Ghia with the same caramel (or baby poop!) interior as the base model KB Laser GL in the link

I saw a rather nice early pale blue-green Valiant this afternoon headed west on the Windsor Road at Kellyville. A bit of Googling tells me it was an RV1 Valiant Sedan.

They're the better looking of the two models of that body shape and far less were built.

A Nissan Figaro! I used to see one of those regularly around Westmead when I used to live in that area. One of the few cars you could call cute with some justification.

Saw a Ford on the back of a truck (no doubt headed for the wreckers) that closely resembled a Holden Nova (I know, a Corolla, but the resemblance was closer to the Nova). Could it have been a Laser?

Although Mustangs are numerous nowadays, you rarely see these. This was taken a fortnight ago.
