Re: Once upon a time.......E.H.Blythe of Bexley
The earliest information I can find on E H Blythe is from Vic Hayes Route Number information which states that Mr Blythe started Route 122 Kogarah-Shirley St on 10th September 1929.
I have posted a number of photos of E H Blythes buses from various collections including EH, KM & PA.
These photos are listed in m/o numeric order and I have tried not to duplicate any previous vevicles. GM

Hi there, my partners grandfather is Allen Blythe who still lives in the old bus depot house. If anyone has any old photos I would love to see them as he turns 98 this year. Djltechservices@gmail.com is my email if you have any

Re: Once upon a time.......E.H.Blythe of Bexley
Also if anyone happens to have a lead on where any of the blytheway buses may have ended up, we as a family would love to locate one, no matter the condition to restore and have in the family. Please let me know if anyone has any ideas on this

Were the White and Diamond T buses pictured above registered with E.H.Blyth.

In my very early registration notes the bus shown as a White in GM's photos is registered as m/o 721. It was certainly in E H Blythe's fleet.
Here is a Don Allitt photo of it at a Billy Graham Crusade at the old Sydney Showground

Never seen a two hole six stud wheel rim. Makes the bus look more heavy duty.
NSW, the state that embraces mediocrity.
Re: Once upon a time.......E.H.Blythe of Bexley
Really enjoying this post. I grew up in Bardwell Park with a route 68 stop at the front door. We knew the drivers like Mr Dent, Mr Blythe, 'Charlie' (who let me open/close the door on 4939 & 5074) and Mr Rogers, who drove me to school for many years - mostly on the Albion, both before and after the seat upgrade.
I'm curious - there are no images, and no discussion on 3 Blythe buses:
1 - A short wheelbase with sub floor engine, like the Tiger Cub that had no door. People in the front seats were protectected from weather by a screen.
2 - A Bedford delivered 'new' after the Albion, and
2 - A beautiful British made coach imported from the UK. I believe it was the first imported into Australia.
If anyone has any images or info on these three, please share...
Thanks

rjm717. I do not have photos of these buses but I have identified the last two. They are a Bedford VAM 70 registered m/o 5536 and the British made coach was a Duple registered m/o 716.
Re: Once upon a time.......E.H.Blythe of Bexley
Thanks for the reply hugh45. That's great detective work.
I have found a photo of the Duple on a different thread here. The Bedford (5536) still eludes me however.
