Hollands of Vic on a tour up this way Good shepherd have had the Merc for couple years but they only got the Scannia this year. Topendescape have now got 2 deckers in the fleet. The NT police have changed 92 a bit and not sure what there going todo with it( it will hold a lot of prisoners I guess) I can't see the back yet. Campbells bus has been in the Greyhound yard for awhile but notice it had greyhound australia, maybe they are trying a new market. no rego. anyhow thats whats happening in Darwin.

The Scania is ex Willunga Charter SA. Its a K112TR with a PMC Apollo body 1986 model, refurbished by custom coaches Adelaide in 2003 with a SB40 front. It was sold to Good Shepphard approx 12 months ago.

Cheers

Yea thanks busben, much appreciated. However i can tell you why Greyhound has a bus with Campbells on it, its really as simple as, Greyhound bought out Campbells. I'd say that they are leaving the Campells name on it because it would be better know and have a good name for themselves in Mt. Isa? Thats my opinion, just the same as the McCaffertys name still on there coaches.

If you read their website it says that they specialise in mining work, maybe they have a contract starting up soon?

Not likely, it's to old to get rego up here for charter work like that and we don't have any mine's close to Darwin to do daly trips to for worker's.Maybe they can sell it for a motor home. Not! we already have enough of them for sale up here.

Thanks for posting Dave, always great to see whats happening up the top end, keep them coming.

Ex DBS 92 was modifed at Volgren, Dandenong Vic recently for the NT police as a mobile command centre. Now air con thru out and has a whopping great big gen set now in the rear 'tapered' section. The bull bar was specially built apparently for this bus. You may find a big radio aerial on it soon plus communications aerails etc on the roof. When it left Volgren, the inside was basically a shell apart from a couple of seats at the front for riding 'shotgun' I guess. Interior to be finished off up there somewhere. Bus was drove down and back to Darwin!

I'm not saying the job is bad but rather dislike buses having be modified so much they have lost the original character and the bull bar looks similar to an Vorgen bodied B7R's and really doesn't suit ex DBS 92.

I guess ultimately, the new owners have modified it to suit its needs, not based on looks. 8)
