Ordering a Schnitzel for lunch & which costed me close to $14 & it was as flat as slice of A4 paper. Don't get me wrong, I love this particular joint I get them from but if this keeps up I certainly won't be returning. So sick of these places being "cheap" and giving consumers substances pieces of food & charging a very hefty amount of money for it.

Never thought I would be relaying credibility to a video from one of the younger bus foaming kids, but one of those kids has recently uploaded a video calling out a certain 'American' channel on u0Y3buT (intentional typo, by the way), and it's the first time ever that I've completely agreed with him.

Has anyone else that has had to delve into the cesspool that is u0Y3buT had any dealing with that channel in question? I mean, surely there can't be someone out there suffering from THAT much delusion that he would be blatantly addressing a video of Sydney's buses as
"Transport Buses U.S.A, (Transit Systems West NJ Transit) (State Transit MTA New York City Bus)"
No, I am not kidding; there is a video on his channel titled in that exact order, topped off with an image in the thumbnail of the interior of one of the later ex-STA CB80s.

Unfortunately Banksfielder I know all too well who you referring too in regards to the whole "State Transit MTA" saga.

The user in question has been uploading these sorts of videos for the past couple of years now, I don't have an exact timeframe in mind but definitely way beyond two years. I have an assumption this youtuber has some sort of make-believe world where they pretend that "Sydney" is akin to New York and are treating it as such. Regrettably for said Youtuber they appear to have a woeful habit of removing comments that has had some other users calling them out on this, I presume they come from the other Youtubers subscribers who is calling this Sydney MTA Youtuber out.

I have to say while I am one respectful of how one chooses to create content, I'm not 100% fond of their choice of naming, it's bad enough seeing them now move onto Garbage Truck videos while still adding various US Cities names to the titles despite the fact they again are set in Sydney Australia, half way across the other side of the Globe. I looked at the comment section of one of their recent Garbage truck videos & there were a few other Garbage Truck enthuistists from the US commenting on this persons videos, no one comment from them saying how they are not in the US and this is in a different country, so the subscribers are possibly young or don't care & just go with the flow.

With Youtube I keep my interactivity to a minimum only interacting on my Transport Channel account and only keeping that with a couple of other local content creators who I am subscribed too which works 100% fine without issue, these are youtubers who respect the boundaries & upload really lovely & true to the point content, no clickbait, no drama or woes & this is how it should be.

Note to Forum Administrators: I am not naming both Youtubers in question & am just adding some more light onto Banksfielders post as I am also aware of the problem he speaks of.

I reckon it's an attempt at click-baiting.

YouTube's search is so screwed up nowadays, that if you search something, lets say "kittens", you'll get a few results for that, then YouTube will tip in "Suggestions Just for You". Any results you get beyond that will be completely irrelevant, or, using the original example search term, you'll get videos of baby leopards.

On the issue of YT search, it's quite clearly biased towards so-called "content creators" as opposed to the channels of old who made videos about their pursuits and things.

Your likely right on the click-baiting more so than my theory, I just struggled to really come up with any other better explanation for why their doing it.

sadly nothing can be done about this except ignore the creator which isn't the most brightest piece of advice but they won't change their behavior and while clickbaiting I'm 100% sure goes against Youtubes TOS, Yotube themselves are realistically not going to go after something like this. Youtuber A made their point about what Youtuber B (In this case MTA STA Youtuber as I keep calling them) is doing, their subscriber base has now been made aware of this but as I already said nothing can be done, Youtuber B was called out & basically their response is to shrug their shoulders and carry on with business as usual (I know what I am doing but is it really that bad approach) and I presume all this has done has also given Youtuber B further attention, exactly what they want (because it'll draw people to the channel and get them on to viewing their seeing the content)

In this case Youtuber A really should've gone for the "There's a content creator on this platform who we'll refrain from directly naming" approach, explain the problem without naming the youtuber in question.

Heads up to anyone still running Windows XP (be it on a vintage PC or in a virtual machine), the ABC News site no longer works properly in Firefox 52 ESR due to some newly-added JavaScript that breaks the page, blanking the entire screen at the last second after the page has otherwise-successfully loaded.

The current workaround is to disable JavaScript on the site (at least until that stops working too). Of course, that also means that you can't click the "load more stories" button, as that uses JS too. Wish I could find what's causing it to blank itself so that I can Adblock/uBlock out the offending code.

That said, no-one in their right mind should be using XP when practically any modern Linux distro is infinitely better (if you're trying to avoid the malware known as Windows 10), but I thought it was worth mentioning anyway. The pool of what sites still work in Firefox 52 is drying up by the second, likewise with sites that actually distinguish desktop PCs instead of just stretching a vertical smartphone UI to the screen width and cropping the page to fit, resulting in excessively large text and images and way too much scrolling.

Check out NoScript if you haven't already. That can help with this sort of stuff (you can get around the Anti-AdBlock messages by completely blocking all scripting from the site, for instance!).

That's something that gives me the shits. Annoying floating menus, pages where only a third is actually text, grey or beige text on a white background (seriously!?). The modern internet is becoming increasingly tiresome and tedious to navigate. Perhaps Web Developers should be taught to make pages that would load quickly on a dial-up connection - all this extra bandwidth we have today is just wasted on so much scripting and other unnecessary BS.

Where did the Java name derive from? Is it anything to do with the Indonesian island? Always struck me as an odd name to use for computer software.
What's Linux distro? A third party operating system you can download as a bypass to using Windows 10?

Costco, early 2022: Let's jack up our everyday Coke 36 pack price to nearly $26, remove any and all membership discounts which took all of $2 off anyway (10%), and blame it on COVID, truck driver shortages, floods in Queensland, Russia invading Ukraine etc...

Costco Ringwood, September 2022: Has what may as well be a quarter of the building full of unsold Coca-Cola/Coke No Sugar/Diet Coke 36 packs, still sitting at the same inflated price for months on end.

I'll just add that a decade ago in regional WA, the "Special" price for a 36pk of Coke was about $30 (or maybe a bit less). Normal price about $40.

Anything coming via Fastway /Amarex (whatever they've rebranded too as now).

I placed an order for an custom canvas that came to $50 & the place I ordered from is sending it via the above couriers. People give Australia post flak (sometimes myself included) but their kilometers ahead of Fastway / Amarex. Last time I had an item come through them (amarex) left it sitting in their van for two days after it said it was out for delivery, I've heard of other people commenting they just dump the package somewhere randomly and don't tell the receiver where it is if their not home and customer service is way way terrible & AR shrugs their shoulders (their outsourced apparently)

I've found Ebay to be 95% transparent in who sellers ship items through, why can't other commerce websites do the same?

(And just for word of warning, no I didn't know who the place would be sending my item through until I received the details it had been shipped).

Aldi Blackstone chips are now $2.99 each. Were $2.29 at the start of the year, then $2.49 after Vladolph Putler attacked Ukraine, then $2.69, then a new recipe swapped sunflower oil for canola and slightly lowered the added flavour (still 200g though, no shrinkflation at least). Still beats the joke RRP of Kettle and Red Rock though, $5.50 in Colesworths. 7-Eleven wants $8(!) for a 165g bag of Kettle chips, I figure they must sell roughly one bag every month.

At the start of the year a $5 note used to buy me two bags of Blackstone chips and a 69c Titan bar. Titans (and Dream bars) went up 20c as well.

On a happier note though, Aldi finally brought back a limited supply of Coke 36 packs for $23.99, should be completely sold out by next week and vanish until early next year as always. Costco can still eat a frankfurt (although admittedly, two weeks ago they had a "massive" $2 discount on them for the first time in six months, $23.80 I think it was - probably straight back to pushing $26 by now though).

More Crown Melbourne s&#ttiniess, as the 20th century rears its ugly head once again.

Apparently the Teak room now has a dress code rule, which is not shown on the Crown website or anywhere else online, as Crown's website insists that only their nightclubs require such an anachronistic thing. Guy at the counter had no issues whatsoever, mate who has a gold Crown Rewards card had it scanned at the desk, and suddenly another Teak Room staff member sprinted from one side of the lobby to the other just to tell the concierge "they've got trackies!" and have us removed.

Both of us were wearing plain black pants, not suit pants, but not stereotypical druggie crap like Adidas stripes or torn jeans either. Didn't bother arguing with the w⚓ as we most likely would have been frogmarched out of the entire complex by twenty bouncers and probably given a one year ban for good measure.

Nothing like a bit of "legal discrimination" to start the night. Never mind the fact I wouldn't be seen dead in a suit yet I've been in there countless times in the 19 years I've gone to the casino. Last time I went in the Teak room I was wearing a Metallica t-shirt, not a word was said from any of the staff, just walk up, mate gets card swiped, I sign in as guest since bottom-tier and Riverside/silver Crown Rewards cards are completely worthless, play the pokies, get free drinks, get covered in stinky tobacco residue because somehow it's legal to smoke inside an enclosed building if you're a high roller (it has since been banned I think), walk out without being kicked out etc.

Good thing we didn't get in the Teak room anyway as we wouldn't have left the casino half an hour later $300 up on the pokies. Not that Teak has any pokies worth playing since they're mostly 10c and up, and have the same 10-13% house edge as the 1c games anyway, defeating the purpose of having a higher minimum bet.

In other news, Aldi's already out of the 36s (see previous post). In their place was a bunch of worthless Christmas crap plus about a hundred tubes of equally-worthless 134g Malaysian Pringles (all red e.g. salted only, no other flavours), because of course it's too much for a major supermarket to stock the proper American Pringles like they did five to twenty years prior when they can sell a vastly inferior and shrinkflated product for twice the price (the old 150g Pringles were originally $2-$3 until they were replaced by 134g Pringles for $4 - these days they're $5 when not on special).

I miss the days when they first came out in Australia in about 1991 and they had the cheese flavoured ones that were nice and caked in orange cheese powder. Then a few years later they dropped it of course.
It's now impossible to find potato chips in cheese flavour.
I can still taste in my mind Arnotts O'gradys cheese flavoured thicker potato chips in the 1980s, as well as this other brand of similarly flavoured regular crinkle cut chips. Both discontinued before 1990.
Australia was a superior place to shop in the 1980s compared to later and certainly nowadays.

Pringles are now another one of those "You get what you pay for" types of snacks, I was an on-again off again eater of their salt & vinegar crisps way after they moved production to Malaysia and yes while I knew the quality of them had long sailed at that point and what alternatives you could buy from other supermarkets were no where near Pringles, not even close. Then at the same time as they moved production they introduced shrinkflation to them, you now ended up paying $1-2 more for a smaller tube and smaller crisps. I don't touch them anymore even if their on sale.

Worth seeing if you have specialty stores in your area and asking whether they'd take requests and could possibly import some from the USA. This is something you could do yourself but the costs for importing a tin just go way out the window.

On the topic of supermarkets, I can no longer seem to get stakehouse chips or even beer battered ones for that matter, I have gone to various Colesworths / Aldi's different times of the week and the shelves are bare of them, sometimes not even any french fries. I did a bit of quick research, there was threats of potato growers wanting to pull out back in June / July of this year but no more recent articles and I'd imagine if we were facing a shortage, the prices of chips at Takeaways and Mcdonalds + KFC's would be going up in price to reflect on that?

All the Australian ads portraying mixed race families on purpose as some woke motivated brainwashing technique.
I'm getting Jack and Jill of it. All done by the usual woke virtue signalling left wing (but really racist at heart) whites who run media and ad productions.

This fad started in Britain and as usual, what (stupid wacky idea) Britain does, Australia soon follows.

I also notice various ethnicities, particularly Africans, proliferating in our commercials, even though they are still very rare in the population.

It's all a load of PC nonsense.

IRRESPONSIBLE MOTORISTS....

Especially the ones who throw rubbish out the window, for someone else to pick up. I've often thought they should be outed. Well, here goes...

The Black BMW driver, reggo CLC87K who, thursday 13 October at 2.06pm, went to a lot of trouble to clean some mess inside his car, then dropped the dirty papers out the drivers window - outside my house. He will know where he did it.

How do we get the message to him?
