Redlands Transport...that takes me back to riding on their buses on early primary school excursions. Funnily enough I ended up driving a few of those buses when I worked at Veolia.

Eagle, my family used to own the Suncoast Tourmaster. She was a flash bit of kit in its day. 6V92TTA Silver 350, coupled to a really sweet 7 speed spicer and 3.3 170 Rockwell diff.( it would do 140kph so they would tell me. Not that I ever found that out.) 3Tv's,toilet,refrigerated water,46 seats and 44 with the bunk down. The whole back bin held the spare tyre, tool box and 1200l of fuel. Manufactured in 1984 she was the last of her shape to have a normal door after that they changed to the plug type and later still Austral change the a/c pod on the roof and then finally to the glass front. When we sold it, she had over 1.8m km's on the clock and that little GM did 1.6m before it was replaced out. You have brought back a lot of good memories with that photo, I personally did over a million k's in it. Great vehicle. By the way, for the life of me I can not place the bus park you took that photo in. Keep it straight, and once again thank you for posting that photo.

Too many gum trees in the rear of the picture...which would have been the entrance in the late 80s

Can you shed some light on the Dunkleys Tourmaster 427-AXH? It has a 2nd door, behind the front axle. What was that conversion all about? I've never seen a Tourmaster with a 2nd door.

Dunkley's Tourmaster had a wheelchair lift fitted to it. They were one of the early operators to have these type of coaches catering for the disabled customer. They also had a Scania / PMC Apollo fitted out the same way, Brisbane Buslines now own the Scania, you can see it on the BBL website. I have a few photos of Dunkley's, I'll dig them out and post them later. : )
