Caught the 5:00am trip on the 966 nightrider last Sunday morning which was operated with bus 1014, which according to the fleet lists is an Ivanhoe Bus Company bus? Bit odd for them to be doing that route?

Possibly on loan to Knox or Croydon depot. Failing that, perhaps Fleetlists is wrong. Isn't Ivanhoe Bus Co owned by Ventura now. Therefore it would simply be one depot leading a bus to another depot.

Most likely the driver doing the shift is an Ivanhoe driver and rather than going to Knox or wherever to run the shift they have done it from Ivanhoe in one of their buses. Is the frequencies of NightRider still increased or have they returned to normal schedule?

Re: Ventura/Grenda Group news January - June 2014
I had a quick visit to Melbourne and saw the Dandenong and Oakleigh depots. [Oakleigh looks like a prime piece of real estate].
At Dandenong, I saw some training buses from the train - most blue, maybe artics, and a Grenda red/yellow livery bus. Is anyone able to provide the fleet numbers please.
At Oakleigh, I saw the retirees row with 23,24,27 and 456, and 23 up near the workshops. Perhaps a few others up there with a short life span too!
I saw the new PTV livery Volvo B7R Optimus - 1028 - at a distance - it has a new green number plate - does anyone have the registration?
Can anyone explain the system for these plates? Or is there no system? 1038 is BS00AR & 1039 is BS00AS.

Re: Ventura/Grenda Group news January - June 2014
I'm assuming the system would change the last letter and then progress upwards, so starting from BS00AA then AB AC....AZ then BA.....etc then BS01AA all the way until BS99ZZBusPlaneTrainTram wrote:

I believe 1028 is BS00AQ, open to correction though.

The Grenda website is still up at http://www.grenda.com.au/. What you see missing is the website of Grenda Bus Services, which was sold to Ventura.josh01 wrote:The Grenda website is no longer in use not sure how long this had been for

anyone have any news on local berwick runs out of cardinia depot up for tender?
Re: Ventura/Grenda Group news January - June 2014
Can someone help me work out the current size of the Ventura group's fleet?
I think that it is 901 buses which I get by adding up the 312 from the Ventura fleetlist and the 589 from the Ventura/Grenda fleetlist.
Is this right?
I apologise if this is the wrong venue for this question.

Re: Ventura/Grenda Group news January - June 2014
I propose that we make a combined fleet list of all 901 Ventura Group buses just like the Transdev Sydney page where vehicles of all 5 depots were combined into one concise and succinct table. Since there is already one ex Grenda Corp. bus repainted into the White-Yellow V stripe Ventura livery: That Scania Bus would be Ventura Seaford L94UB 433 registered as 4433AO.

Re: Ventura/Grenda Group news January - June 2014
Andy O , Grenda's do not exist anymore, they are Ventura Buses from EX Grenda depots
to which the Fleetlists on/line should reflect that , but don't

Sorry Venturatiger, badly worded. I knew what i meant. Ex Grenda buses was indeed what i was meaning. Very rare to see them operating in the city other than nightrider.

Re: Ventura/Grenda Group news January - June 2014
Spotted today was Ventura #1048 (?) (Volvo B7RLE, Volgren "Optimus") driving down the M1 towards the Western Ring at Altona. This bus doesn't seem to be in fleet lists?

It's still to be delivered. It appears it'll be bound for Croydon.

Ventura #820 (Scania L113CRL/NCBC "Buddina") has been repainted in the new Blue, White & Yellow livery. Seen hanging around Oakleigh depot today
Re: Ventura/Grenda Group news January - June 2014
Must of had some major body repairs for such an old bus being repainted.

I think all the Ventura Buses including ex Grenda ex Ivanhoe and ex US bus will all be receiving this livery in the future.maxy54 wrote:Ventura #820 (Scania L113CRL/NCBC "Buddina") has been repainted in the new Blue, White & Yellow livery. Seen hanging around Oakleigh depot today
I like to call it the "Grentura" livery
