'79 merc 0305..L.H. side of steering column is a 2" electric

'79 merc 0305..L.H. side of steering column is a 2" electric

L.H. Side of steer column on floor is 2" black button under a 4" spring loaded flap. Can't trace the wiring as it goes directly into the loom and can't see the wire code colors either! Hope someone knows what it is

Thanks Fellas. An answer would be helpful. the 0305 runs well but has that rear end "Bang" when going through the gears. I love the bus though. I bought her in 2009 No 2190 from STA in Brookvale.............Have a good day all

That button was for the driver to alert the radio room that there was a problem.
The bang in the back may be a diff problem.

The bang in conjunction with gearchanges could be that the transmission is shifting too harshly thus sending a shock load through the driveline, the rear axle could be at fault as well but my experience would more so suggest the shifting issue with the transmission.
