Kangaroo Bus Lines???

Post by Cordes Express »

Hi there, I am trying to find photos of this little Puddle jumper from when it was with Kangaroo Bus Lines. The only photo I have of it is from their website. I believe it's a Mercedes Benz LO812 & was #28 in their fleet when they owned it.

It looks like KBL 28 and not KBL 26 to me. This is not in the fleet list but it could well have been 28 before the earliest one in the fleet list which is dated in 1999.

I looked in disposals in fleetlist and the only LO812 that came up was KBL 26 with a NCBC bodywork as there was another 28 in disposals was the Custom 515 bodied Volvo B6BLE which was sold to Carbridge then to Mandurah bus charters as there TC-6516.

Correct it is KBL 28 which was sold to a school bus operator in Texas QLD before being re-sold to a mob called Gateway Connections in Brisbane.

I have this photo and many others which came from Daryl Webster.

Kangaroo in fact had 5 of these, being KBL 26-30 inclusive! All were new in 1992 with 28-30 being replaced by the Volvo B6LEs, with 30 being renumbered 16, 28 was noted with Gateway Connections in Brisbane, 29 went to Coolum Coaches, and later on 16 went to Calliope Coaches, 26 to Clifton and 27 to Texas.
yolo seems to be a bit of a trend!

Hi Hayden,

That's slightly incorrect, see below correct disposals:

(26) to Wombat Wonderers, Clermont, QLD as 391 HFK.
(27) to R.W., B.A. & C.W. Brown, Sandy Camp, QLD as 520 HFA, then to J.M. & M. Burgess, Crows Nest, QLD until replaced by a BCI in 2009.
(28) to an Unknown Operator, Texas, QLD as 468 FBO, then sold to Gateway Connections, Hemmant, QLD as 912 JTU via Ken Chauvier (dlr).
(29) to Coolum Coaches, Coolum, QLD as 068 FON, then to Trans North Bus & Coach, Innifail, QLD as (34) 068 FON. Allegedly sold to Hoppers Adventure Tours in Victoria but I think we've found this to be incorrect.
(30) then (16) to Calliope Coaches, Calliope, QLD as (MissFit) 415 GQV, then with the business & runs to Buslink Queensland, Gladstone, QLD as (333) and is currently with Dowie Buses in Yeppoon, QLD.
