[DK] A rare Denmark O305

Thanks to a contact of Guy_Arab's in Denmark, here's a convertible O305 that is used by an event transport company:

Lucky it has its canvas roof to cover it as it would not be much chop in the bitterly cold Danish winters.

Hello there, the colours are German (black-red-yellow) and the registration behind the windscreen is a temporarely registration in use for car- truck- bus dealers. Yhe bus is for sale for just under € 20.000,- (=aprox Aus$ 26500,-) at OMR located in Untersteinach in the south of Germany.

I don't know how it works in Denmark, but of course your vehicle can be as old as you want.
Big towns in Germany, like Berlin, Hamburg, Munich and so on have got a special city area where your vehicle must not sequester too much of fine dust (this area is called "Umweltzone"). Mostly old vehicles like the O305, also O405(N) do sequester too much fine dust so the public transport companies are forced to buy new Buses, like the Citaro (O530). Otherwise you have to convert the old vehicle so it does not sequester too much fine dust, but this costs a lot of money. Sightseeing companies often buy old Buses (like SD202 and SD200) and convert them.

What do you mean when you say "sequester too much fine dust"?

A bit off topic here, but do you have any shots of the SD200's and SD202's that you could post up? I've driven these in the OMSI Bus Simulator and I rather like them.

Yah, that's right! Sorry for my English, I didn't know how to describe it.

And yes, I'll upload some photos. It's great to read you are intereseted in these Buses. I like them very much, too.

Possibly due to the server change or similar reason, there are nil images showing.

There are definitely some quite old buses to be seen in Copenhagen (Kobenhavn). For example, these two ex German citybus MAN double deckers on sightseeing duties drifted across my path on 08 and 09/09/12.

I saw an even older single decker coach near the City Hall, but it moved off with the traffic before I could get close enough to get a reasonable shot. Best I can do is this 'crop' from a photo where it appears in the background -

I first saw similar MAN dds (but with roofs intact) back in 1988, operating in Vienna and at least one German city I visited. To my eyes, they looked very like a standard MAN SL200 single decker of that era which had had an upper deck grafted on. From memory, the upper deck front windscreens were derived from those used on several truck makes / models available in Germany / Europe at the time, to ensure some commonality / ready availability of parts.

They are indeed ex-BVG MAN SD200s. The top one will most likely be very early 80s or late 70s and the second one is early to mid 80s. Fine looking vehicles, but obviously converted for sightseeing use. Oldest vehicles I've seen to date in Europe so far would be the open top ex-BVG MAN SD202s and Volvo B10M artics in Portugal which aren't that old in comparison to these.
