Re: CDC NSW Fleet Updates
Doug,
Are there still 6 at Northmead remaining in old red/yellow which should be refurbished? There are others much older which should not change livery.
7627, 7630, 7646, 7650, 7715, 7718.

Canary Yellow repaints:
7718 - N.
3570 - Thornton [very little changes in the Hunter - most non Canary Yellow buses are unlikely to be repainted based on age].

Yes - 7461 is on loan from Bonnyrigg at the moment.

Re: CDC NSW Fleet Updates
That's because a new driver we acquired from Bonnyrigg was out on a school run and reversed it into a pole. It is now in panel shop.
p.s. look me up when you are there - usually driving 288.

Re: CDC NSW Fleet Updates
Correction.
It was m/o 1476,1477 and 1479.
Don't have a 1478 at Sainty.
My understanding is they went to the land of the long lost EBA (Dural). Could have given them a couple worse though. m/o 8453 doesn't have am-fm radio so would have been happy if that went. As for being temporarily on loan, we will wait and see. Why would they need them in school vac so I reckon they wont come back (hope I'm wrong ) Only got 2 of those tee vee's (not sure which ones ). Wish we could keep them and get rid of our mk1's.

Re: CDC NSW Fleet Updates
My mistake, regarding 78, just goes to show we are just mushrooms anyway. I was suspicious as to why they would have gone to Dural and been replaced with the old vic units from Charter plus, now it makes sense.
Anyway, what are they doing with em . Rail or something ???. Since you are in the know , what about trying to convince the powers to be that we can swap our mk 1's over (please)

Re: CDC NSW Fleet Updates
Naa , you cant have our B7"s. I still regard them as the best handling, smoothest ride in our fleet. ( no coincidence there a volvo with a custom body) . Those mk11's feel strong and I love the way you can "hang on " to the grab rails when you race them (oops sorry, navigate them ) aroung Glenmore Park.
AS for 5973 it must have got lost on the way. Perhaps we could keep 23 &24 anyway. m/o 8028 and m/o 7622 (or 7616) are out of action for a very long time thanks to our Yardies forgetting that buses need fuel , water and offcourse "OIL" to keep the motor in the bus and not spread allover the workshop floor .

Re: CDC NSW Fleet Updates
I saw B7RLE m/o 8272 on rail bus route 20A today at Granville. Has that been transferred too?
Re: CDC NSW Fleet Updates
Just noticed in the fleet lists that the MCA at Singo has been withdrawn. Anyone know why the withdrawal? or what will be replacing it?
Also noticed 2 weeks ago while in newcastle that the Edgeworth fleet has outgrown the depot and now most of the low floor volvos and the 2 scanias occupy the old Carrols pine yard across the road.

Re: CDC NSW Fleet Updates
My twice yearly visit to Dural today [with a quick check at Northmead):
For Northmead, I was incorrect noting m/o 7718 in new livery [still red/yellow] - however, m/o 7630 is in Canary Yellow at Northmead [5 remain].
Possible transfer from Seven Hills, m/o 7539 & m/o 7544 at Northmead [just on holidays or permanent???]. 909/7480/7588 seen at N; 7475 not visible.
Onto Dural:
As noted by Emm Kay Vee, 7365 is deregistered at the back of the buses in the small three lane bus park area!!
Not in Canary Yellow - m/o 7513 [was away for refurb previously and expected in Canary Yellow].
However, in Canary Yellow are 7166, 7285, 7344, 7349, 7350 and 7351. [3 Mercedes 0405 Mk11/CC 510 in old livery at Dural / 5 at Northmead] and 3 x Mercedes 0405 NH/CC left at Dural [2 in the National version of the livery].
Maybe only the above 11 plus the 3 x Volvo B10BLE / CC CB60 [in Glenorie colours] will see the paint program through - most of the remainders are aging [some up to 1999].
Hard to make a decision on the value of a paint job for the older vehicles.
For Northmead, I was incorrect noting m/o 7718 in new livery [still red/yellow] - however, m/o 7630 is in Canary Yellow at Northmead [5 remain].

Re: CDC NSW Fleet Updates
7286 is in refurb now, 7513 isn't in refurb, on the road yesturday. 7168 is still in westbus livery as well. 8341,42,8682 aren't known when to hit refurb. Ditto for 1014/15. 7502/03, 7529...
Only problem with 8417, 8442 (nat express) etc going to refurb is that they come back to us!!

Re: CDC NSW Fleet Updates
is there any special reason why Morisset has become the "graveyard"?
I know there is some space there, but it looks a bit tacky.
Why don't the buses get striped down and flogged off for scrap.

I believe they have been moved to Morisset in anticipation of a bulk scrapping deal with Sims Metal.MO9205 wrote:is there any special reason why Morisset has become the "graveyard"?

Re: CDC NSW Fleet Updates
singo updates.
Westbus mo829 and mo7480 are at singo as school buses.
3591 MO and 3593 MO sitting de registered in the back corner of the depot.
Sitting out front near 4686 MO was the yellow pie cart, deregistered. behind it was another blue pie cart with the back window smashed. Also deregistered.
2447 MO has been painted Canary Yellow, retains the roller blind desto.
2452 MO has been painted Canary Yellow and has been fitted with an electronic desto.
Sitting out the front was also 3587 MO. looked like it was releaving.
2449, 2450, 2451 and 2445 are looking very tired.
