From midnight Friday to 4:30am on Monday, each weekend between Saturday 21 June to Monday 25 August, the following stations will be closed due to Brisbane Metro works:

King George Square station
Queen Street station
Roma Street busway station

https://translink.com.au/updates/792706

See the above service updates notice for temporary stop locations.

During this time, metro services will be replaced with existing Council buses. The M2 service will display RM2 on the front of the bus.

Final Brisbane Metro arrangements to start requiring a seat change for many existing SE Busway users from this weekend.

Very interesting, since I specificately remember that back when the original SE Busway project was approved, it was promoted by the council over LR or HR options because it enabled single seat journeys from the local streets in the burbs to the city.

"Many" is misleading - it's most on low frequency routes that were only adding complexity.

Some services have been rerouted off the Busway to service comparatively inaccessible areas such as the area around QUT Garden Point.

Agreed that during the week, that end of the City needed better access.

However, no-one wants to go to QUT Gardens Point at night and the weekend - people want to go to Southbank and the Cultural Centre precinct.

For example, instead of sending the combined 175 across the freeway every fifteen minutes during a weekday and all weekend services, they could have had a 174/175 split at the City end rather than the Mount Gravatt end - half hourly service on the 175 via the freeway weekdays and half hourly 174 via Southbank weekdays, weeknights and weekends.

This still reduces the traffic through Cultural Centre during weekdays (it is so damn quiet now anyway taking so many services away) and gets people where they want to go (noting also that the Metro does not service Woolloongabba).

On the Bus Tracker, I note that Sherwood artics are running the M1 and M2 services this morning. Is something happening today?

Thanks. There was nothing on the Service Updates page on the TransLink website until an update at 7.21am.

TransLink are just hopeless at providing information to the public.

Still no 9024 and I haven't seen 9001 in a long time.
Anyone have any update on either of these units?
Was wondering whether it was too expensive to upgrade the "prototype" 9001 to meet the current requirements of the Metro vehicles.

Nothing official i can link to, but I had a chat to someone involved with the project and it was brought up. I don’t think I am able to share what exactly happened but it won’t be delivered, not sure if there is an extra one which will be built to make up for it.

Noticed today that 9049 has Roboto font on the destos (Same font as all other council buses) and it looks a lot better then the mobitec default fonts.

Saw a bunch of other metro vehicles all without the new font, so they must have just started to roll it out.

Will 9001 enter service? Or is it just stuck being a Demo for the rest of it's life? I can't see the metro vehicles staying for very long anyway. In like 5-10 yrs, TfB will try and replace them I reckon.

They may want to keep them as fresh as possible so the passengers don't think they are on an old vehicle.
