Blue Mountains postcard - December 2014

Post by Centralian »

Here's a selection from my photo's over the last couple of months, plus a poor quality oldie. Enjoy :)

A frequent visitor over the last few months to Katoomba has been this Irizar i6 of Paramount Tours:

As has this latest addition to the AAT Kings fleet, a little Bonluck:

Passing through Katoomba in December and overnighting was this Optare Solo (demonstrator or delivery ?):

Without cheating by reference to fleet lists, can you pick the 4 body builders represented here at Compass Tours ?

Fantastic Aussie Tours now have both Autobus Hi Decks repainted into their livery:

Displaying new Blue Mountains Transit P/L accreditation is 3739 MO:

Found this 'retired' Austin tabletop at Georges Plains, not quite Blue Mountains, but sort of close.
507.jpg
Unbeknown to me at the time, my last photo of vehicles wearing Pearce Omnibus P/L accreditation,
the MAN twins on a wet day outside the Carrington Hotel in Katoomba:

And an oldie I found of a line up of 3 Katoomba-Leura liveried buses that are still in service with BMBC:
(apologies for the poor quality)

Centralain,
As always quality coverage of activity on the mountains my friend - Georges Plains still qualifies in my book for the mountains.

That Solo is wearing what looks like WA school bus colours, so maybe it's a delivery run - surely it would be easier on a flat-bed truck?
Oh, what a perfect world this world would be,
If he was President now - but he's not.

Thanks PTC. George's Plains has one of those classic abandoned railway stations which has been receiving some TLC from the looks of it.

Centralian,
Brings backs memories for me.I had a year on loan at Bathurst Railway Workshops in the early 1980's as a young Loco Fitter. Many enjoyable weekends chasing trains for photos up Tumulla Bank and many other great locations between Lithgow and Molong.

Still have all the slides - one day they will get scanned.

Hi Centralian, it's the one that was displayed (BusVIC?) in Sept `14. It became 1ERX549 with McInnes - recorded as North Albany but the bus operated in Perth. It's currently (16) at Horizons West
