Timetable Changes 2026
Re: Timetable Changes 2026
Given that citybound services departing from platform 1 at Penrith may be as rare as rocking horses, then it is prudent to advise of the change. Of course 99.9% of people won't read the announcement, but TfNSW is damned if it does, damned it is doesn't.

https://www.nsw.gov.au/sites/default/fi ... ur-say.pdfHave your say: Bus stop on York Street, Sydney
Transport for NSW (Transport) are seeking feedback on a proposed bus stop on York Street, Sydney.
In December 2021 the City of Sydney introduced the King Street cycleway which resulted in changes to bus route 389. Bus route 389 operates from Pyrmont to Bondi Junction via the Sydney CBD.
Prior to 2021, the first bus stop in the Sydney CBD for services coming from Pyrmont was on King Street near York Street. Currently the first city stop for services coming from Pyrmont is at Sussex Street after King Street.
To allow for better customer access to central CBD destinations, a new stop is proposed for route 389 on York Street after King Street.
What is being proposed?
Eight metres of ‘No Parking’ will be removed and replaced with 30 metres of ‘Bus Zone’.
Existing ‘No Parking – coaches excepted 15 minute time limit’ will be relocated 22 metres south.
22 metres of “Loading Zone and four hour parking’ will be removed.
Changes to coach parking.
What are the benefits?
Passengers on bus route 389 would be able to board and alight at a bus stop on York Street after King Street.
How to have your say?
We invite you to consider the proposal Transport has identified and let us know your thoughts by Friday 24 April 2026.

Re: Timetable Changes 2026
Most up services from Penrith use 1 or 2; services coming from the down yard use 3. Some down services middle of the day terminate and reverse in 3 for some reason.Linto63 wrote: Sat Apr 04, 2026 11:34 am Given that citybound services departing from platform 1 at Penrith may be as rare as rocking horses, then it is prudent to advise of the change. Minor changes to bus services in the Zetland area.
During school terms or sometimes during school holidays, when there are bus timetable changes, the release day is a Sunday as there is no impact to school services. In this scenario, from memory, Monday to Friday services would be dated with the date of the first Monday.

Re: Timetable Changes 2026
But the map provided in the link shows the existing service, not the new route?

Re: Timetable Changes 2026
^ The links for most bus timetables normally display the current (pre change) route path on the map which is the default setting. When the date is manually changed in the drop down menu, the route path on the map will be updated.
The updated interactive map still displays some incorrect data by displaying a part of the old route 304 and route 320 extending on Joynton Ave plus and extra non-route part extending along Epsom Rd, this is where buses used to perform a u-turn at the round-about when running not in service to turn around and operate a return trip back towards the Sydney CBD. The Transport NSW Info interactive maps sometimes misinterprets spatial data by displaying a route path along the wrong streets or a route path that has one or more small portions of route path missing.

Both maps show a loop around Green Square in the counterclockwise direction.
Was the previous plan for the two routes to loop in opposite direction?

Re: Timetable Changes 2026
While it has been reported that the Sydney to Lithgow service has been increased to hourly and free coach services introduced while the Great Western Highway is blocked at Victoria Pass, not reported is that the first Bathurst Bullet in each direction has been cancelled, with the Endeavour redeployed to operate a four times daily shuttle service between Lithgow and Bathurst. Doesn't appear in the online timetable, but does in the trip planner.

The updated route 304 timetable still displays the proposed route path change via Zetland Ave (highlighted in grey broken lines) whilst the route 320 route path change via Zetland Ave is displayed correctly as a definite route path changes.
The interactive map for both affected routes is not displaying the correct route path, the interactive map currently displays a U-turn from Zetland Ave into Zetland Ave at the intersection with Paul St, there is no suitably designed infrastructure allow this manoeuvre to occur safely.
There is a need for manual adjustments to be made when using the mapping software, waypoint markers need to be placed around the new terminus at Zetland so the software can recognise and display the correct route path.
