Yeah, ik, just wanted to mention the underrated buses. Could do with a bendy bit in the middle and 2 doors on the tr.ailer. (Would be great for Airpark as it gets really busy)tonyp wrote: Mon Mar 23, 2026 3:09 pmThat would be the BYD and Optare buses used on car park shuttles at some airports. Two of the doors are between the front and rear axles. They don't function very well in extreme crowds because of the high floor dead end at the back. A normal three door bus has the back door behind the rear axle.

Bustech, Volgren, Custom Denning. Find the odd one out.

Here's an example of the floorspace of a bus not being fully utilised because of stairs and the lack of a back door.

That would be a Volgren-bodied Volvo. Bustech's problem was stairs at the back door, though, even with the sloping floor, they still didn't entirely eliminate stairs in the aisle. The sloping floor also created a headroom issue in the rear saloon, just as badly as a high floor in a low-entry.Busman66 wrote: Tue Mar 31, 2026 3:02 pmHow, Bustech?tonyp wrote: Mon Mar 23, 2026 5:27 pm Here's an example of the floorspace of a bus not being fully utilised because of stairs and the lack of a back door.

Only people who should have stairs at rear are Charters and Greyhound.

This video has a few more interior views of the Yutong U18 for Canberra:

Photos taken in March show the two-door U18 for Canberra is still in the Yutong Factory. However, the three door versions have not been seen since last year.
