Not sure if this is the right forum but does anyone know if the selection of stuff sent down from Hornibrook Buslines, Clontarf QLD are still running or have been retired yet?? Think they went to LinkSA?

Thankyou. Hornibrook have another 5 up for sale, 116-120 so be interesting to see where these go.

I’ve read on FB that 1542 has been retired. Is this correct?

Shame as it was always a nice bus to catch. Hopefully someone is able to preserve it being the last Merc to go on the track

I don't have more details but it appears that Premier Stateliner have acquired at least one Irizar i6S bodied something - I have seen it/them in Mount Gambier a couple of times, unfortunately going in the opposite direction to me!

If it’s the same me you’re talking about, I saw this vehicle over the weekend of the 19th/20th October 2024 on the Whyalla services, and unfortunately I couldn’t get any photos of it either.

It looks like Adelaide Metro operators (presumably SouthLink first) will be taking delivery of Volgren-bodied Scania K320HBs. Images of an AdMet Hybrid liveried bus at Volgren in Dandenong have begun circulating on Facebook.

SouthLink’s new Scania/Bustech hybrid #3585 entered service out of Aldgate depot today. Depending on the fate of Bustech there is a chance this could be the final Bustech bud to enter service.

Has been interesting to see some of the retired MAN gassies coming back into service over the last few months. A few months ago 1752, 1759, 1766 & 1773 came back and more recently 1751 and 1767 are back as well. From my understanding 1755 & 1760 along with 751-764, 767 &774 will not be back but unsure if they are planning to return the retired 16** buses.
I am assuming that when Bus Tech replacement maker brings in new buses that will be the final end for most of the gassies given their age.
In the meantime if you like riding the gassies take the chance while you have a few minutes extra to choose from.
Apologies if I missed any bus fleet details

Is it a possibility the government will make these buses R#### and be used for upcoming tram substitute services?
