RAMP METERING....
The SMHerald of 24.4.24 reports on community concerns that city-bound traffic in the Transurban-owned WestConnex tunnels was being given proirity over other approaches to the Anzac Bridge via the congestion-plagued Rozelle Interchange. It is noted that ramp metering (one vehicle per green) is installed on the Victoria Road, City West Link, and the Iron Cove Link, but not on the WestConnex Tunnels. It remains unclear what role Transurban may have had in reaching that design.
This information has come to light at the current Upper House Inquiry into the operation of the Rozelle Interchange.
The ramp metering appears to be only used during the morning peak. Victoia Road inbound buses using the full-time bus lane by-pass the metered lanes, but as of last week, buses were still being artificially delayed by extended red phases, along with general traffic, for up to 20 seconds, perhaps more, at many if not all of the upstream traffic signals on Victoria Road.

That sort of behaviour can be found on any road in Sydney. So many drivers have no lane sense, or "forward planning" for their next move.Swift wrote: ↑Sat Apr 13, 2024 7:00 pm I thought this YouTube short was the Rozelle Interchange for a few seconds. Was it based off this roadway in America?
