The Bribie Island and Surrounds Transport and Mobility Study has commenced.
The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) study will investigate current and future transport issues and opportunities.
Now is the time for members of the community to provide feedback and have their say on future public transport in the area.
The Queensland Government is undertaking the Bribie Island and Surrounds Transport and Mobility Study to plan for the area’s future transport needs.
Bribie Island and the surrounding mainland communities are forecast to grow over the next 20 years, with more people calling the area home.
The planning study focuses on the communities of Bribie Island, Donnybrook, Toorbul, Meldale, Ningi, Sandstone Point, Godwin Beach and Beachmere.
It will also consider how these communities connect and travel beyond the study area, including towards the Sunshine Coast, Caboolture, Redcliffe and greater Brisbane.
All modes of transport, including walking, cycling, public transport and driving, will be taken into account as part of the study.
The planning study includes extensive community consultation, which is aimed at gaining a better understanding of priority transport issues and opportunities.
Public consultation begins this week and runs until Sunday 17 December 2023.
Residents and visitors can have their say online by completing a survey or leaving comments on our mapping tool, or in person by visiting a community drop-in session.
