I cannot remember if the new buses had lap sash but in trucks they are hopeless in traffic if you need to move your body to ensure there is nothing behind your blind spot and this even happens with planes and that is why there are stop signs.

Perhaps the driver on buses only has to wear a lap belt.

Sorry mate, it is at 4 minutes you see he has not got a safety belt on and I watched a training video on British buses and I think the driver only had a lap belt on.
I cannot remember if Australian buses are just lap or if they are lap sash so you cannot see around blind spots.

There have been a couple of times where someone came into view from nowhere but other drivers did not understand the reason for moving your head and stopping at stop signs.
