Hi, thanks for letting me join this forum.
I am a writer needing some information on what a passenger on a long-distance coach might expect in the early 1990's. I did a few 8hr back trips then but as you can imagine...
My character will be traveling from Melbourne to Cairns.
I'm sure there were differences between companies & routes, but a general idea would be great. I'm thinking facilities such as:
- drop down seat tables.
- TV.
- individual seat air and lights.
- toilet facilities.
- how far seats recline
- anything else you can think of.
Much Appreciated

Getting back to your questions:
All coaches would have had toilet/washbasins
Can't recall seat back tables.
Most seats had reading lights and air vents
Most seats reclined 15-20%
A lot had TVs. maybe 2 or 3 screens for the length of the coach. But no sound controls, so you were stuck with what the driver selected.
You got 30 min refreshment breaks every 4-5 hours.
If you were on VIP, the air conditioning might not be working.
