Funny how it's headed "tram hold up" but it was caused by a bus losing a tyre and blocking the tram track.boronia wrote: ↑Thu Mar 17, 2022 10:56 am A little bit of nostalgia from the STM archives

Re: Old Sydney Tram Remnants
It held up the tram. It's not necessarily implying the tram is at fault.
NSW, the state that embraces mediocrity.
Re: Old Sydney Tram Remnants
Tram tracks on Oxford Street between Bondi Junction station and Syd Einfeld Drive embedded in the road base have briefly become visible while the asphalt is relaid.

Can confirm. Saw it during the STA farewell tour. Sad to see it go, but that's been talked to death at this point.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^well done, Boronia. But the pedant in me reckons the bridge pier in Toongabbie Creek is that of a railway, not a tramway. Not mentioned is the bitumen paving around Flowers Loop, the remnants of the short bridge over Manly Lagoon, adjacent to the skate park, and the substantial brick back wall of Enfield Depot.

^^^^^^^^^and I'm surprised the Malabar Battery House is not on the list in the document Boronia refers to.

GREAT NORTH ROAD, ABBOTSFORD.
Sleeper "bumps" and long lengths of rail head continue to push up the bitumen at the northern end of this road, but re-sealing has recently taken place immediately to the south so the vision may not last long.....
