Mk2 ex 2304 NAMBUS to retire

Post by casualdriver »

Ex Sydney bus Mercedes 2304 currently registered as NAMBUS and operated as a mobile museum by the Central Coast Vietnam Vets is winding up its operations of visiting schools and expos due to the age of the bus and the vets who man it. Ironically next year marks 50 years since the end of the Vietnam war which gives you a bit of an idea of the volunteers who man it,most in their middle 70s.The bus will have its second last public display between 10am and 12pm this Saturday at The Diggers club at Ettalong Beach and on Saturday 14th January at the Vietnam Veterans memorial at the waterfront at Ettalong Beach it will be on display from 10 30am to 1200pm during which a decommissioning service will be held
On the following day it will depart for it's new home in Victoria at the Phillip Island Vietnam Veterans museum
