Today's the last day of operations for School Special 749, the former Route 52; the last and only service departs Sacramento Avenue, Beechboro at 3:16PM then arriving at Midland Station at approx. 3:58PM.

Platform signage at Perth is getting redone into non-line-specific black.
I'd post any important, bus-related links I had, but they're outdated anyways.

Saw that at McIver when I was getting a vaccine kinda makes sense as both Ellenbrook & Thornlie will have their own colours Thornlie is supposed to be purple however that could be subject to change having all these lines with separate colours would be too much signage all stations are meant to be getting PIDs to make up for it the issue being is the PIDs used don’t change colour to represent the service departing like the 3car B set going to Showgrounds but it’s still yellow.

I wonder if the facilities at those new stations are a bit larger than the typical postage stamp size meal rooms found elsewhere on the network?

I personally found the drivers crib room at high Wycombe very small given that its a shared facility for both bus/train drivers. However in saying that I know we aren't all going to be there for long periods of time during meal breaks

I wonder how it compares to Curtin Central? That's a small crib room.

We're not cribbing there- I imagine the platform staff will use it though.

The bus route 753 will replace the former 749 services.

For 292? Given its catchment, it makes better sense for RCDEP to take charge.

Anyway, something tells me all Eastern timetables may be under the same operator at some time in the near future.

Redcliffe wasn't refurbished and reactivated just for a laugh - it's meant to be servicing these runs.
Unfortunately the world has been turned on its head by COVID, supply chain issues, workforce shortages (no doubt exasperated by another mining/oil/gas boom within Australia, at least), no doubt this plays into a recent observation by shinjiman. If true, it can't be cheap having to run those services from depots so far away (perhaps more improvements will be coming if/when that situation is resolved?).

Maybe you know something you're not sharing with us. According to this post the 292 is part of the Midland contract which makes perfect sense.

I believe he already explained himself in his reply to me.

As for 290/291/940 I can understand why. If MVDEP and RCDEP were under the same operator a similar arrangement as 210/211/212/930 can be easily worked out. Having 940 in Midland and interlining with 290 harks back to the days when MVDEP did 36.

280 shouldn't really be in Canning. Kalamunda can keep 280 and let Canning (CVDEP) take 75.

With regard to the vague media statement from Redcliffe's reopening, or even looking on a map, it seems a bit unusual for some very frequent routes practically next door to Redcliffe (292, 940) to be Midvale-operated. Shinjiman's list wasn't exhaustive, so I guess we'll have to wait and see on a few other routes (e.g. 293, 38) that are either new or have been significantly upgraded.

Others, like the 277, 278 and 280 seem to make a bit more sense as Swan trips.

Actually it probably fits in quite well - although I'm not sure who operates more timetabled services out of Cannington, nor how far Beckenham, Canning Vale and Welshpool are from Cannington.

CVDEP did 75 in the past. Also 229/294 interlining wasn't uncommon. 507 was run by WPDEP too.

Currently, I'd say most Cannington routes are operated by Beckenham, with occasional input from SR. 34, 72, 201-203 and 294 fall under Kalamunda package and are controlled from Welshpool.

The main thrust of my post is that things are not always as they seem. There are very good reasons for why things are the way they are (to which we are not privy to) and we'll just have to wait to see how it all unfolds once the new services commence. It's a bit like trying to solve a case based solely on circumstantial evidence.
