3233 involved in an MVA last week and is at Custom Coaches for repairs. Looked to be damage, so I assume will be off the road for a while

I think 3359 is there too after a truck crashed into it at the bottom of the freeway as it has been missing ever since. Wonder if it will be repaired considering it’s age?

Lots of extra buses out and about for the Rugby double-header today. I saw a fair number of extra 544s (don’t know if they cut in at TTP or all the way from Golden Grove), plus some extra 863s, and T840s. I’m sure there were plenty of others that I didn’t notice.

I also saw Scania L94UA #3331 on an 838H - highly unusual especially for a weekend. I guess the bus was required for a busier run at some point in the day.

I suspect those 544's would have started at TTP - it's often used for these special events, as it terminates at W1 Currie St. Easy turnaround at Clarendon St to commence a trip (540, J1T etc) back to TTP.

According to a tweet from Tom Koutsantonis, the last pure diesel bus has been delivered, with future deliveries to be either hybrid or electric.

I believe that makes the last pure diesel buses TT 5024 and Busways 2606.

I wonder if the wording "diesel standard buses" are weasel-words for only rigid buses being hybrids or electrics? And any future artics will be what they may...

I don’t think Scania have a hybrid artic chassis, and as far as I know the 4 complete and 7 under construction K360UAs/VSTs are all diesel. The wording may be because these haven’t entered serviced yet and some haven’t left BusTech.
