R9 Belconnen service running off course
There's this trip I've found that seems to just have a CB60 escaping from Canberra right down the highway! Might have been hijacked?
This isn't a glitch, it's been consistently updating as it goes on. For those reading this, her is a sample of what it's doing.

Update: The bus has just terminated at Woden interchange. Quite strange.

The bus would just running empty to Woden, without completing the trip on the console.

Makes sense. Still a rare discovery though.

But one would have expected it to show that it was running "off course" or something to that effect which it actually did.

First time I have looked at Anytrip in Canberra and am surprised that it actually seems to show the fleet number of the bus concerned which it does not do in Sydney - probably because not all buses there have fleet numbers.

Really? The only operator I can really think of is just Maianbar-Bundeena's busses.

Try Punchbowl Bus Co. and Forest Coach Lines. Interline only shows fleet numbers for 19 of their 119 buses.
Hillsbus and Transdev do not treat the four digits of the registration as fleet numbers but do show them on the buses so they could be treated as fleet numbers if necessary.

All other cities AnyTrip has - Darwin, Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, and Auckland will show fleet numbers. Melbourne only shows them for trains and trams, although it’s indicated this is still in development.Fleet Lists wrote: ↑Sat Apr 30, 2022 8:45 pm First time I have looked at Anytrip in Canberra and am surprised that it actually seems to show the fleet number of the bus concerned which it does not do in Sydney - probably because not all buses there have fleet numbers.
First person on 822, 865 (2016 re-route).
Last person on 164, 867, 868

In the case of Darwin it is in fact the registration so that can also be done.

The NT Bus Tracker app (old version - the newer version obscures the fleet number unless you dig deeper) and the web version will both show any vehicles fitted with a DCU and their correct fleet number, which is printed on tickets. This suggests that both fleet numbers and registration data are both being sent (along with Make/Model data, if I understand correctly) - it's just a matter of AnyTrip making use of the correct one.Fleet Lists wrote: ↑Sun May 01, 2022 8:31 am In the case of Darwin it is in fact the registration so that can also be done.
When buses finish a trip in Darwin, their status on the web tracker automatically changes to "Route Completed", then "Repositioning for Next Route" where applicable. Sometimes the bus will vanish from the map midway through a dead trip - whether that's the driver logging off or something failing to update, I do not know.
