Bayswater Bridge Removal + Midland Line Closure

Post by Zidanehartono »

With only a 3.8 metre clearance, the Bayswater Bridge has been notorious to truck-related accidents with trucks and other overheight vehicles striking the beam as they attempt to pass through. Those type of events will be a thing of the past as the remainder of the works set to take place with a new (higher) bridge beam to be installed. In addition, a 24 day closure on the Midland Line planned to start on 23rd September during the school holidays.

PS: 135 days since last strucked when typing this ;)
So we can farewell the Bayswater Bridge, the Midland Line will close for 24 days starting in September.
This work will allow the Midland Line to be realigned onto the new rail bridge and allow us to open the first two platforms of the new Bayswater Station.
To plan replacement services, we’ll be undertaking a line-wide passenger survey, as well as accepting feedback online.
