Excellent old photos Herbert and Leopard1543(2378 showing 747!!!). Both 2378 and PH2948 share highly polished radiator shells but where did that fine AEC badge come from (a single decker that donated the headlamps also??).....perhaps the owner has a connection with the Top Deck operation, perhaps if this may not be 2378 (due to the work involved changing the dish headlamp panel) then the straightness of the body shows a bus that has been very well cared for and may also be ex-Top Deck.In europe, Top Deck also had some spareparts Bristols kept back at base,I have seen photos showing a group of about a dozen buses all together in the mud.Sometimes spareparts buses end up getting rebuilt and back on the road instead of being wrecked
A side question, when 2378 did these Sydney -Perth runs, what was its top speed? Did it have a higher ratio diff fitted or was it stuck with citybus 30-40mph top speeds???

As mentioned by Boronia in the other thread in which this is being discussed, they have not existed for a long time.
