AAT Kings

Post by Centralian »

I think it's worth bringing attention to the fact that AAT Kings have just taken delivery of their first
Denning Mfg 'Phoenix Midi'. It's appears on their fleet listing and hopefully more coming their way.
The Denning Mfg website has some images of the inside seating layout (32 seater) of this vehicle. Not sure where it will be based.

Its interesting that AAT Kings are following the fleet numbering System of their recent interest Downunder Tours in Cairns- ie seating Capacity (32) followed by the order in which they were delivered (1) = 321. Possibly an example of where the bus will be delivered, also considering Downunder tours fleet are filled with Denning Manufacturing.

Two more Denning Phoenix coaches just delivered to AAT Kings, unsure of rego and location at this stage.
One is another midi Phoenix identical to #321 delivered last year, while a 49 seater Phoenix Silver has also been delivered.

The 49 seater Phoenix carries National Heavy Vehicle rego XS.28BC and is fleet 491. Still all white (with red antlers) as at 19/2/19.
The 32 seater midi Phoenix carries National Heavy Vehicle rego XS.29BC and is fleet 322. Carries signage of 'Inspiring Journeys'.
Both vehicles have come through the Blue Mountains day tour recently and are based at this time at Alexandria depot, as is the earlier #321 - TV 9961.

Advertised as being for sale are the 2 glassroof Bonluck President 3 - #159 and #160 which were only acquired in 2014, and #145 Bonluck President 2 on NT rego.

I notice AATKings are taking delivery of a few 3 axle Denning Phoenix coaches, the latest in February being #601 a 14.5m 60 seater.
Rego unknown at this time. A 58 seater entered the fleet in January, and #583 entered in December 2019.

It appears AATKings is done with their Scania N280UB Volgren CR228L and has listed it for sale on Rodd Hood Bus Sales

This was the 'midi' that was a Scania demonstrator on loan to Sydney Buses for 6 months over 2013-2014.
Looks in good condition from the images on the Rodd Hood website.
